You are correct! Ducati was extended till the end of 2023 according to brickfanatics. 1 Quote
landphieran Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 The sets that have been "extended" like harry potter charms and bugatti have been sold out for quite some time. Are they expected to come back later in the year for the holidays? Quote

Hard to know what are supply issues, new strategies, or "real" retirements -- not everyone except Amazon . . . Quote

So after they teased a quick retirement for Ninjago City Gardens, the pushed it back not 1 but 2 years! I wonder how much of that was due to the sudden surge in reseller demand after it was on early 2022 EOL lists. 1 Quote

Captain_chaos Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I'm very interested to see what happens with the Imperial Star Destroyer. I think I'm right in saying that it'll be the most expensive Lego set ever to retire, so how much will people a) be willing to invest in them and b) be willing to pay for them post retirement? Quote

Its been the general consensus that LEGO is putting out a lot more volume than past years...I would think this would also suggest retirement strategies have also changed for LEGO. These lists represent a mix of info sources, but a lot of it is due to past "shelf life" which is looking less and less reliable. LEGO has access to crazy amounts of marketing data (not available just a few years ago)...clearly a new paradigm in terms of shelf life and retirement is upon us. Quote
Goblin Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 The beneficaries of these public 'lists' are Lego, Amazon, ebay, couriers, storage companies and factories that make feather dusters. 4 Quote
