Las Vegas is out of stock at Amazon and Walmart.  I know its set to retire this year, but do you guys think that's the last shipment for these retailers?

no.  you could see stragglers showing up early next year.  once the set is retired people F5'ing to buy them at msrp when you could get them with the target gift card deal this whole month.

now treehouse  isnt going i got way to much tied up in non retiring sets. gonna be a long few weeks

same here buddy; they are gonna go right next to my knight busses

My strategy used to be to wait to buy till I see the retiring soon label. I veered from that so as not too miss out, but being more conservative may be the wiser approach with all these changes.  Or I need to start investing in unpopular sets :) HS here I come

some stuff, ill keep hold of, but with this & great hall & long term stacking certain sets id rather pump money into a few that's going, then i have time to fight to restock again in a year...hopefully at better buy ins. its just the hassle of selling when i didn't want to be.

Flintstones has been one of the only Ideas sets to get a regular big discount here in NZ. Not a great seller, it seems...

Back to the Future was discounted by Lego themselves for the longest time.  I picked up a few on every trip to the Lego store (multiple times a week).  The lasted pretty long at clearance price.

Different reasons for discounting.

A popular set can be discounted if EOL is near and they wan to clear the shelves.

Saturn was had for 90$ and 83$ before being retired last year.

A set can also be discounted if its a turd.

Hidden side may qualify. (debatable)

Flintstones doesnt have the strong fan base of BTTF, Tron, Friends, etc. I just dont see a cult like following. To me its just a silly cartoon, and i did enjoy it when younger but it just lacks the depth of the other TV/Movie shows. So while I have picked up 30 of these at 48$ and likely will pick up some more BF if they are cleranced further, at MSRP its a hard pass.

Does anyone know what the power functions are being replaced with? There are quite a few marked as retiring. Seems like a good market unless their is a line of improved power functions being made.

"Powered up" system Is the latest.

They were the same ones saying that it would retire. Seems these online pubs just take a shot in the dark and hope they are right.

That would have been a super short shelf life. We should have known better.

I have made a fair few mistake from that list that's for sure. I'm hoping there will be some sort of shortage on certain popular sets that I've been wrong on towards christmas lol.

Once Saturn came back and SIAB, too, I kinda figured this would happen. Have my 6 stashed away, will hold off on others unless BF pricing is significant.

The whole Ideas line is very risky at this time, as all the Ideas retired sets are fair game for a reissue in the new “black box”. I’ll stay away and watch from afar.

Even Flintstones :)

Many so called "turds" over the years here have turned into gems.
