saturn v is currently sold out/call for item availability...

inventory discrepancy?

seems like a set with moderate potential ?

Please retire Saturn V and keep Tower Bridge and Volkswagen Camper Van going. At this point I think everyone has pretty much given up on those two sets.

75189 Walker is call to check and 20% off on LEGO Shop at Home.

I don't see this doing what the last walker did. Hung on 6 months too long. Wish it had gone with the destroyer in Jan.

There are several The Last Jedi and Solo sets 20% off on S@H right now.

I predict there is another FO Walker set for Spring or Summer 2020...  This is just pure speculation though. :P

I finally see the appeal of this thread.  It is fun to speculate when I do not have any new SW set in my basement :D

I do actually think we will see a new walker soon though. Likely an original trilogy version. And from someone who hasn't bought one yet I look forward to it.

My first post...

I have multiple sources that the sets listed below will retire this year.

Got my information from:

LEGO Customer Service, a trustworthy guy who has worked with LEGO for 10 years, famous german LEGO blogs like Stonewars or Brickstory

10243 Parisian Restaurant

10254 WHT

21309 Apollo

70620 NC

21313 SIAB

76105 Hulkbuster

21314 TL

75181 Y-Wing

21311 Voltron

75222 CC

21315 Pop Up Book

80103 (already gone!)

Maybe:

71040 Disney Castle

The castle was marked to retire in July this year, but they changed it. No specific date given. Could retire this winter, I doubt it though.

Many other sets I listed are unlikely to retire in my opinion, like the Saturn V, but that's what !all! my sources told me!

Nobody knows the retiring soon list at this moment, even good informed lego employee. I remember last year, there were several retiring lists till November, and no one was accurate.

I agree with most of your list:

PR and Winter train  - both should retire last year, so this year is a MUST. I think the Winter train is the longest living winter set ever.

Saturn -  unusual, very long life for Ideas set. Probably due the good selling numbers + 50 anniversary. Should retire this year for 80%. I would say 99%, but TLG came with Lunar Modul this year, which fit with Saturn.

Ninjago city + dockyards  - ninjago movie is a dead topic, cannot imagine these sets living next year.

Ship in the bottle + Tron- typical Ideas sets with production around 1,5 year. I expect their retiring this year.

Voltron - just 1 year, but extremly expensive + not very popular. Will retire this year.

I expect also retirment of these sets:

T1 - it should retire 4-5 years ago, I cannot imagine going over 8 (!!!) years.

technic sets with typical 2-years life - 6x6, mack, forrest machine...

50 % retiring sets from my point of view:

Hulkbuster, pop-up-book

I dont believe retiring of these sets:

Y-wing - not reaching 2 years in the end of year. Typical life for UCS is 2,5-3,5 years. I know there are exceptions (snowspeeder from last year), but it is rare and for extremly shitty sets. I dont think Y-wing is so bad.

Cloud city - similar epic fail as Assault of Hoth, but this set will reach just 1 year in the end of year.

Disney castle - I would expect its retirment, but after another Disneyland set was announced, I cannot imagine a retirment of a set perfectly fitting with new set.
