I picked up at $15... Sold them for $40. Couldn't get more then that which is just over 50% off after taxes. Vader's TIE Advanced vs A-Wing retailed for $120, my buy in was about $75... wound up letting them go for $75... I was more than happy just to get my money back! lol

Not even worth breaking box up to sell separately as so many resellers have done that already. i agree with many on here SW theme has had its time. There will be few exceptions but even Rogue One which had good ship designs and one off film aren’t doing that well. So back to 2018 retirements the RS tags must be getting applied to SaH soon surely? I think it was early-mid November last year but could be wrong. Yellow Castle
The RS Tags have started to be applied. 146 on SaH UK. Wow Tower Bridge going and quite a few surprises too. I think I need to remortgage ?
marcandre
Silent Mary, Big Ben, Detective Office, Brick Bank?! all marked retiring soon on UK LEGO Shop at Home. Yellow Castle
So surprised ar Big Ben too. It’s iconic set, thought it world have done better and had longer shelf life. Now makes sense why JL and Smrths had a 20% off last winter, slow sellers like 75144. Some Architectures are surprise too but then like the randomness of RS Tags so far. Legojona
Lot of pretty recent architecture sets in there. think the Ferris Wheel is one of the most iconic sets there is. It speaks both to children (I checked by letting my nephews and nieces play with it) and adults (Just think about the way it makes each MOC city seem like so much more fun)
Guest TabbyBoy
I bet a lot will be glad to see the back of the Technic Porsche, I may now finally get my first (and only) one. The Tower Bridge is a surprise as I was told that this had another 5 years to go (I know, sprinkle some salt on it!), but the Old Fishing Store doesn't make sense as it appears to be a huge seller and is a lovely set. Here's my thoughts on some of these retirees: 21029 - Buck House: The World's most famous house and hasn't been out long, pure gold? (I'm very tempted to order 20x ASAP!) - PASS 42068 - Technic ARV: Often available at 50% off, a nice looking vehicle, somewhat overlooked, sell for RRP within a year? - PASS 21056 - Technic Porsche: About God damn time! Massively discounted, available everywhere, widely hoarded, will struggle to reach RRP? - FAIL 10214 - Tower Bridge: Shame to see it go TBH, I can see these going VERY quickly, disappointment awaits due to very long life and big Amazon discounts - FAIL 10253 - Big Ben Elizabeth Tower: Short(ish) life, small discounts, World's most famous clock tower, everybody loves London (even Americans!) - PASS 10246/10252 - Modulars: Theme losing it's mojo I think, failure of Pet Shop, other EOLs stagnating, possible hoarding - FAIL 21312 - Women of NASA: Massive NASA fan base, unique set, will pair well with 21110 RI and 21309 S5, easy to ship, slagged off on here, dark horse - PASS It's early days so don't shoot me down yet... in a year from now, you can! ? Good luck, guys... I'll have a good think and decide soon if it's worth topping up.
Val-E
No T1 tagged? I guess the webmaster must have left it off the list to avoid hoarding.

I was hoping for that too as I bought way too early back in 2013. There's no hope for the T1 after 5 years of hoarding, surely? I sold mine not too long ago at break-even and have no plans to buy more unless they hit -50% which is unlikely. I think the Mini and Beetle will go first, event the F40 did. Sorry i can’t remember where I read it (or maybe I dreamt it) but I thought the Mini was expected to retire this year but no tag yet? i think we still have more sets to be tagged, usually more City, Brickheadz and as mentioned earlier 75060 which was showing in LEGO catalogue last month has no RS tag. Good luck, guys... I'll have a good think and decide soon if it's worth topping up. Some retiring sets are unexpected (2 newer modulars instead of PR, big ben, just after 2.5 years, very short in comparsion with long lived TB), also some non-retiring sets are a surprise (no one creator expert car, although MiniCooper was noticed as retiring soon by 2 relevant sources, Slave also was highly expected as retiring soon). My opinion to potential of retiring sets: 21029 - very strong architecture sets, can have same good potential as Louvre 42056 - I dont agree that it has no potential. It was very popular, very good seller + its a first set of a serie. Yes, it is hoarded, but almost every big set is now hoarded. 10214 - although extremly long lived, although stagnant Sydney opera is warning us from buying the landmarks, its very popular building from very popular city. Of course, since many people have these sets on shelves a long time, the satisfaction of the profit / per year will be poor. The winners are people who buy this set this year. 10253 - same pros as 10214, plus unexpected short EOL - must by a winner. 10246/10252 - although this topis is highly affected by an inflation of many modulars coming each year and slow rise, there is still a space for some profits. The key is to buy the modular as late as possible. Plus EOL of these sets was unexpected.
Guest TabbyBoy
I see that the 42068 ARV is now OOS in the UK which isn't surprising as it's one of the best looking IMHO. The AWE is a bit long in the tooth (like the Porsche) so may well hang on until the bitter end. Remember that Asda may be selling retired Technic sets for some time, like the 42066 Air Race Jet. LEGO should remove all buying limits and get this crap cleared out so that we can move on!

dennugsmello
How strong is the correlation between "retiring soon" sets in the UK to the US? Does the list above give an indication the same sets will retire in the US in similar time?
