I feel for you and retailers should know better. Don't forget to leave a poor review on their website too as they need to be taught a lesson. You can also try calling 020 7084 7915 to see if you can get a huge discount if the set is complete. Don't accept crap like this as the problem will only get worse.

Phoned up and got a full refund. The trouble is that I had a damaged Wither box last week and I accepted a 'full refund and keep',  so I guess my metrics are now over a valued customer. I can put the £69 towards Brickheadz!

Are you buying via Warehouse Deals or proper new stock? Those stickers suggest the former and that it is a return.

Proper stock from Amazon. They are wise that people will buy this retired stock at full RRP. The seal code was 2016, so god knows where it has been dug up from.

Over the last week or so I've ordered about 15  retired sets from Amazon themselves (not warehouse or 3rd party). Over half the boxes have been damaged. They have included Wither, Queen's Dragon's Rescue, Ice Spikes. The stock tends to sell out quickly, so they are being snapped up, so Amazon keep doing it. I am waiting for an End Portal that I ordered this morning. No idea what box I will get.

You might want to drop them an email with pics like those as that is not acceptable for their QC to be selling as new. It´s a good idea so they can maybe reevalauate your returns or you risk getting put in the "such a valued customer we ban you" group.

What's more interesting is that this Fortress set was ordered a week ago and I had to wait, so I thought it was direct from Lego. Instead it has obviously come from Amazon Warehouse into New Stock because of the strong retirement market.

I'm waiting for 2 Ice Spikes and End Portal and a Technic 42048 Go Kart. I'm going to video the unwrapping of the package box now.

I am not aware that they dropship from Lego. I think you can get goods from any Amazon warehouse around Europe and they could be FBA stock if they do a deal with the Amazon reseller or they could be AWD. This is appeard to  an AWD "good condition" box yet they are expecting you to pay full RRP and that´s not on. SOmetimes I have had it the other way round but never like this.

I´d hate to see the state of the boxes that don´t make AWD QC pass - even TRU don´t manage to ding them that bad.

Upload it to YouTube for all to see.

Strange as it shows as Available now for me in the Dutch LEGO Shop at Home site...
https://shop.lego.com/en-NL/Palace-Cinema-10232 (Limit 5)

....

Ah... guess there was a delay, but now it does show as TOOS in the Dutch LEGO Shop at Home as well. :)

TOOS until the smashed returns and double-seals are ready to ship ;-)

70751 Temple of Airjitzu now out of stock without any SAH reduction.

Looks like I've missed out on this set.

No you haven't, £169.99 right now delivered from Smyths ;-)

Haven't checked Smyths for a while as most stuff on the website is not available. What are their boxes like?

TBH... I've never bought a single thing from there. However, the instore sets all seem to have price stickers, but seem in good nick otherwise. C&C and reject if you have a branch close?

Thanks. I was hoping for a £120 buy-in as I don'y usually buy big ticket items, especially close to RRP. I may have a drive at the weekend.

Only ordered one Kwik-E-Mart from Smyth's but the packaging was the best I've had. Oversized box with many, many air cushions.

Cheers... I'll take a look next time they have a sale. Do they have buying limits too as I go all in if the price is right?

Smyths from warehouse maybe ok. I had few delivered and good.

ToA in Smyths stores are tired that I’ve seen end of last year. Stickers tend to come off ok if dine gently but one sales staff ripped sticker off and tore box last year, was not impressed and got it changed.

I think the Lego transport box is for 2 x ToA (others may confirm) so you could order in 2s? Just my opinion could be wrong and is a gamble this time of year with stock being the bottom of the pile or returns.

Also available in the UK. A recent eBay buyer who bought one off me for £110, now wants to return it even though it's been opened and built - bloody cheek! It's on one of my smaller accounts so I'll not reply until Monday evening. I suggest a 10% retock fee for a mint set and 25% for an opened set if bags are still sealed and complete, plus THEY pay postage!

It goes to show that a set has to be 100% retired for 3 months before it's safe to resell it without risk of return.

I had similar experience as a seller on ebay.co.uk. (with IT stuff)... buyer bought 4 expensive network cards, even issued a positive feedback - and two weeks after that requested return quoting "cards not working, tried in two computers".. it took me two days on the phone with UK ebay department (for them) to grasp the situation: a) no returns were allowed b ) he issued positive feedback - so IF - then he should request return before that.

ebay department took a position in my favor "can not return because he already opened and manipulated with the item"..
