PolarWolf
What you think about 75101 + 75102 + 75105 ....... they all come out sep.2015. How long till EOL and sould be some provit in there? All three were available in every shop with a discount 20-30% off here in germany. 75105. Not sure there is a decent demand after retiring. And when came the next MF model out 75102 For me looks like winner but willl be masiive horded? 75101 is only low demand in any way for me

I wouldn't waste my time with any other Star Wars set as they are simply as over-produced as Super Heroes and I don't think that a lot of thought has gone into their designs. The problem with LEGO these days is that QFLLs often buy for a lower price than most and then resell to make peanuts, hogging the market for months/years. They are likely banking on the movie hype to keep them moving, and hoping for another peak as the new movie approaches at the end of 2017. Though the massive discounts on these hear in the US is strange for sets that are not retiring. If they do drop off with the current buy in there may be some profit to be made, but its a big gamble and likely not your best bet. I also would not be surprised if TFA licensing agreement, with Disney, is playing a role here. They could be getting kickbacks for keeping them in production and on the shelves, or may actually be obligated to do so. That would help explain why many newer OT and Rebels sets are disappearing, while these are sticking around. Unfortunately, I have rather big stocks of about 100 of each of them and I dont think they can be sold with good profit the next years. At least the 75105 and 75101 seem duds to me. I'm thinking about selling all that stuff off in a good moment to get the money back. I've gambled on the 75102 a bit because I couldnt imagine that Lego keeps two X-Wings in production. Well, that gamble failed for sure. BTW- the best discount I saw for the 75105 in Germany was 33%. That was on Black Friday 2015 Edited December 7, 2016 by Gnueck

Especially if you (like me) bought them too early, before the recent massive price reductions. Luckily (for me) I only have one 75102 and one 75105 for resale purpose. Both bought too high, but that's limited money lost and I'll just let the boxes gather dust for the coming years. The 750101, 75102 and 75105 I have built and on display look fine though. wotguvnotmeguv
Rey and Poe buildables - 75113 and 75115 - labelled retiring soon in UK. Other buildables too, but they're currently the only two from TFA.

LOL - I don't QF on eBay and therefore don't have any impact whatsoever on you lot. I have dealers who I trade with directly for job-lots. As and when I sell on eBay, I wait until the "price is right" and then I list my items NOT before ;-)

We are all part of the problem, no need to pick on individual members. This site was not made for the mass majority of posters nowadays who go out and intentionally buy 10+ of a specific set and are "resellers" not "collectors". Ed and Jeff didnt make this website for people like us who buy buy buy loads of sets for profit, this site was originally meant it for "normal" users of lego who were curious what the spare lego set they bought years ago but forgot about was now worth. That's why sets like millenium falcon and taj mahal are worth thousands becuase they weren't bought for investment or stockpiled, but to be built. Like using fossil fuels, all of us resellers are slowly causing the death of the secondary market.

I was in the Leicester Square shop today and I spoke to the same girl again that mentioned that the Pet Shop is being restocked. I was told this time that any remaining retired sets will be sold in selected shops (LSQ is one of them) rather than online and once they're gone, that's it. Of course, any remaining inventory has to be sold somehow and what better than a shop with very high foot traffic, right? There was also a 10234 Sydney Opera House upstairs which another guy was looking at so hopefully that's gone now. I also asked about the 10232 Palace Cinema and I was told that there are no current plans to retire it as it's a very good seller. She moved over to the UK from the Czech factory so, I think she knows more than most. She's quite cute too! ;-)

I'm done buying sets as it takes a lot more time to get a return than it does with my other business. I'm now going to revert to being a collector only for the forseeable future as it's no longer worth my while. I seem to have upset some people with my quick flips after Tesco's 3-for-2 sale but, it's the most money I've ever made in 2 weeks. I'm no longer going to share what I do in public as competition on here is getting a little too fierce for my liking. I may well return to "The Game" but, not until the herd has thinned out a lot, which it will and soon.

If you want real money, just go load up some comics, eg, first appearance of wolverine, deadpool, black panther, gambit, phoenix, poison ivy, venom, doctor strange, iron fist (to just name a few). Grab a few slabs of CGC graded comics, hold for 6 months, and flip for 20% profits. First appearances are money in the bag and comics don't take up storage space. There is a reason why people here invest in lego and compete for lower prices, it's to squeeze a few dollars. Lego caters to all ages and there are always desperate builders looking for special pieces. The problem is competition as you mentioned. With comics, there are only so many high grade first appearances out there, once you buy it, you may not see another listing on ebay. Just look at Tales to Astonish #13 first appearance of Groot, do a search on ebay and see how many are there. Go put in a best offer and wipe out the lowest priced listing, then every other listing will instantly get jacked up another 10%. Opera was there still by the evening. Pet Shop fully stocked, Maze gone if you didn't notice. I took with me the very last box that late afternoon Top floor was literally spammed with Wall-E boxes everywhere. About the girls, my fav is Daphne, cute asian girl from top floor she is very AFOL oriented and very chatty. lazuli16
Not sure if this was discussed. Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor is Call to Check in the US and sold out at the big four (amz, WM, TRU, and Target). If it is done, that would be a nine month run. Fenix_2k1
Really starting to think that 60's Classic Batcave is on its way out early next year. In the UK its been discounted up to 30% on three seperate occasions now which is a bit unprecedented for such a new "exclusive". I think it's going to be a one year and done set. Can't see it doing well at all post retirement certainly in Europe, but if, as a collector its still on your want list I wouldn't leave it too long.

I personally think that it's poor value for money and I'd only want it for the Batmobile. If the Tumbler is anything to go by, this set could also be a turkey and don't miss the selling window if it does reach RRP!
