Retiring Soon - open speculation

lol - that already happened last year - that's why it stuck around an extra year.  investing in PS is akin to a game where a bunch of folks sit around, drink lots of beer, lemonade or whatever, and wait to see who can hold it the longest.  this is going to be a long painful hold.

People are still panic buying, there just not posting here

Lol...I'm guilty of wanting to do this. Feeling left out syndrome. I only have one for personal build. Everytime I get ready to press buy on amazon I ask myself whether the money could fetch a better ROI on something else in a smaller time frame. Let's just say I haven't pressed the buy button yet.

This reason here....makes my pause even on slam dunk buys.  I just try to make the best decisions I can and never regret the opportunities that got by....key word on try lol.

I got your back. 257 euros in Feb. Best monthly averge was 296 in August and it has been downhill since then.

My data says March 290€.

Doesn't really matter though. The point is I'd be happy if EV did happen to follow a similar pattern. Though I doubt that.

Let's just say I should have stopped pushing that button a long time ago.

That must become a brilliant City Layout. You must post a picture of them all build.

I am sure they are all bought on some kind of discount. So you will get your money back. No worries.

I'm sitting out PS and waiting to see whether modulars are a bust as an investment.  Got my one for PB and I'm. happy at that.

I bought my first Pet Shop today. I was tempted when I saw the discounted price at LEGO shop at home... talked myself out of it. I was very pleased to see that it was sold out. But then someone posted that it was available again as a back order... I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger.

So, to summarise what we know so far:

Confirmed retiring large exclusives in 2016 are:

The Simpsons´ House and Kwik E Mart, Sydney Opera, Ewok Village, Sandcrawler, Fairground Mixer, Pet Shop (7)

On my speculation list I also had Mini, SHIELD and ToA as a joker (3) Total  10.

I think we will get at least a couple more besides those, or to replace the ones I got wrong.

T1 and TB are both going to be discounted over the weekend but does that mean they will go too?

There is no retiring soon tag on  Simpsons´ House and Kwik E Mart - its just a speculation of finishing licence this year. Yes, there is a solid chance that they will finish, but nothing sure.

No reason why to finish Shield - there is no other big heroes set on the shelves + if they want to finish it or is bad seller, they would put a retiring soon there or 20 % black friday discount. I expect another year of life.

Temple of Arjitzu - why to finish it just 1 year after release + next year is a Ninjago movie.

T1 and TB - this is biggest question what they plan with these sets. They are perfect sellers - thatswhy they keep them a lot of years. But why are in BF discounts? They can finish, but also live another 2-5 years...

KWEM is sold out in Europe.

I don´t, unless US sales make up for poor European ones.

50% off doorbuster in the US. Au revoir

Who knows but WH and PS are done.

No way this is retiring. There's no new Mindstorms planned ... just a seasonal shortage as a big robotics set like this is surefire Christmas gift material.

I say it is and I stand by that. Some of the accessories have been done for weeks now.

Architecture Studio is also done but neither are exclusives so don´t make my list.

It's prime FIRST LEGO League season, so no surprise the accessories are in high demand. I would be very surprised if they retired this, unless they want to get rid of the consumer version and focus solely on the Education version of Mindstorms.

Sold out means only one thing at EU shop, unless we are talking seasonal sets. Your reasons are valid but there is also supposed to be the new PF 2.0 in 2017 and this set is ages old now. Let´s see.

I hope they design a "turding soon" tag for 2017, one size would fit all.

Ewok Village and Sand Crawler are the right colour for that tag.
