online ordrerable stock for shipping on 75150 Vader's Tie Advanced has dried up at target and walmart .  targets are cleared out for instore pickup on the worcecster/springfield/hartford corridor.    maybe it is retiring after only 6 months like tag says.   i have a few instore pickups at nearby walmart to snag with scooby snacks.

Blah... with the way real estate has been going in my area, i'd rather pump the money i'd spend on hoarding sets like that into my mortgage.  It will be better returns by far the way things are playing out.

There are so many vader sets, I don't think this one will grow very far.

If you guys think 90 is overpriced, well most others are going to think that too.  The rebels sets will be interesting, but I don't expect great growth on many of them beyond the ghost.

...and the Phantom and the AT-DP and the battle packs...

Just called LEGO shop at home and was able to order 2x of the Doctor Who sets. You may have to act fast to get it. Of course they may magically find more in stock Monday or during Black Friday sale. Good luck.

Objection its fact this thread is reserved for outlandish speculation and ocasional bubble talk.

the title of the thread is RETIRING SOON and then open speculation.  this thread is definitely not reserved for outlandish speculation.  i've made some of my best decisions investing based upon posts in this thread.

nothing means RETIRING SOON more than SOLD OUT*.

*except for seasonal sets in Europe.

I think you're being too hard on this one.  It's Rebels, sure, but look at the actual set.  We have two classic Star Wars spacecraft that as far as we know are not imminently due for remakes, plus a Vader minifig.  I have no idea who the Rebel pilot girl is, but she still looks cooler than a generic A-Wing pilot, so that's a plus too.  Check out how the last Vader's TIE Advanced did (not the UCS; the minifig-scale one).  I think Rebels is a worthless label, in that it doesn't help any, but I can't see buyers thinking "Ew! Not Rebels!  I wanted Vader and his custom TIE, but not if the box says Rebels on it!"

Noob question from a SW ignorant investor. What exactly is SO different about all the TIE advanced models, apart from the size? AFAIK we get one with the DS, there is a microfighter and 75082. I can tell my Technic cranes apart by the number of wheels on them but these all look exactly the same to me. What am I missing?

also 75150 is the cheapest way to get Grand Moff and you get a set exclusive Vader torso.  throw a 6-7 month production life to sprinkle the magic reseller EOL dust.  the thing that sucks about this set is it is a big box to ship.  putting money in this set certainly feels like more of a wager than a "sound" investment but eh, what the hell.  can't just keep buying Trevi Fountains, White Houses, flat irons and Wall-Es.

A wing is a classic? That has to be one of the least impressive looking ships in the entire realm of science fiction.
