LegoBro
News hasn´t got out yet but it won´t be long. Tough break for US resellers who now have advance warning of advance warning of retirement. Is it always this way? Do retirements occur first across the pond before they hit the US? Sometimes it's the other way around. Europe had the Super Star Destroyer available for a few months longer than the US. United States 27 Aug 11 - 03 Jun 14 $399.99 Canada 27 Aug 11 - 03 Jun 14 $499.99 United Kingdom 27 Aug 11 - 04 Oct
asharerin
2 years ago resellers would have cleaned up TLG overproduction messes. Not anymore. I am waiting for deeper discounts. No need to be a hero at RRP these days.
Val-E
Nothing is sold out yet but when it is the European webmasters are usually slightly less inefficient at bringing out the retired tags here. SSD and Seacow were exceptions. Edited October 20, 2016 by Val-E

Val-E
Funny how TLG only put the tag on Exclusives and Ideas sets. Maybe because they know they can take advantage to get one last big sales rush. Tens more will be going quietly and will hopefuly escape the horde. TLKC
I think the new tag is to warn people, the problem is the high number of new resellers. It would be no problem if timmy buys a set because its tagged retiring soon. So if a set gets the flag all noobs going to buy a lot of this specific set. The tag alone wouldn't hurt the secondary market, the number of noobs + tag sux....

Little Timmy has no chance unless they have made a bucketload. It´s great that PS is going but it´s horrible we got the heads up.

And yet again we all know when the time comes and it does get pulled, It instantly jumps a big jump and then heads to double sooo whats the problem gents

I say PS will not be consistently selling for more than 190 euros on Ebay before end of year.

But when no one bites panic starts and the undercutting begins. I am hoping Ed can give us a clue about how hoarded PS really is. I am afraid Grand Emporium will look pale compared to Pet Shop. Val-E
I´d speculate that the order of hoarding (outside BP) is: PS, Ecto, EV, SC, SOH, Wall E, TBBT. Weird the Simpsons stuff is not tagged. Perhaps because KWE is already backordered but then so was SOH.

So Lego decided to postpone the tagging of the Simpsons.

Blockbuster
Did Lego Group give us a cryptic clue as to what was retiring on the Ideas range when they announced the Old Fishing Store had been selected. The presentation showed Big Bang and Doctor Who at the start (old sets) later on it showed the Caterham and The Maze (new sets)....at the time I thought are they hinting out with the old and in with the new? Blockbuster
Does anyone think the Scooby Doo series is now at EOL? Noticed a fair few reductions in the UK in recent weeks. Edited October 20, 2016 by Blockbuster

I think its generally agreed this theme was a one wave and done. I think most of the sets have been on permanent reductions (20% off) since the end of summer.
Val-E
Yes, Scooby and JW are both done this quarter along with CITY demolition and space sub themes.

Only Jk - its SC (75059). Obviously there's loads more left out of the catalog so it doesn't tell you anything but to include SC and not MF....
