Voltron
Come on guys, doesn't matter if we do a poll on here, we won't know how many of a set has been stockpiled. Even if you look at the UK deals thread there are so many lurkers that have 0 posts that joined 1 / 2 years ago. Most people just dont want to contribute and rather keep all the good info for thenselves. Combined with people who literally order a boat loads worth, even if most people only have 1 / 2 of a set, all of that gets wiped out by one person with 100+ of a set, and if the set doesn't do well post retirement, that 100+ seller won't lose any sleep selling to break even or even just unloading all which will flood the market. I've bought 75825 Piggy Pirate Ship at 57% off. Edited October 14, 2016 by Mhd747

There's nothing to stop anybody from saying they have 100 Death Stars when they have 0 and vice versa. This is why I have some "special" sets that I've not mentioned on here and are not in my Brickfolio ;-) I'm just about to strike a deal with a few Tesco branches regarding the MF at £30 which is on HKUD right now. I'm just going to QFLL the lot at half RRP just before Xmas ;-)

Emvisawthatswho
Seems like Angry Birds is retiring soon. Lego has this on the website.Could be a good flip for Christmas at 50% or more off.
Val-E
I struggle to think of a shop that carries the line. It had Lone Ranger written all over it in my book but a short shelf life and good discount could be tempting. Then again, it´s likely to as popular as Pirates in 2015 so stay well away from bird droppings. Edited October 14, 2016 by Val-E
TigerG
70411 of the pirates series was a real hidden gem...bought all of mine at around 12 Euro each and already sold around 10 for 45,00 Euro each ...

I've already sold them for £60 each to HKUD members! Some of the HKUD members are very helpful and can out you in touch with the right people. Somebody managed to get over 100 for £30 each - jammy sod! 4 minutes ago, Ciglione said: I think he has a secret stash of City vehicles that will make him rich. Same here. 5 year old son has an unopened castle he got from grandma (I wouldn't buy any AB sets!) He built 2 of the smaller sets but that was when they first came out. Now he's like "meh" and will grab other sets to build first like Ideas Birds or Minecraft.

It's just phoning around local branches (and people I know there) to see what stock they have. It's not a price glitch as some say but, they are actually on clearance in some places. I've also emailed Asda to see if they want to be offloaded too. It doesn't hurt to ask as I've got a few good deals this way. Contrary to common knowledge, it's sometimes possible to obtain a discount on anything anywhere if you just ask. Local branch managers do have some say in what stock needs to be cleared. There's nothing illegal in what I'm doing but, it's just that a lot of people don't think about it. That's the problem with a lot of people, they're just too afraid to ask or even pcik up the phone. Cool! 35-40% is a very good discount for European conditions. My maximum is -20% on the Ewok Village (199,99€). In Austria you can't get any discounted gift cards or coupons because these things are regulated by the law. These things are like real money, it's is not allowed to discount gift cards and the payback system is evolving... Lego is very often taken out of discount coupons in the shops and a discount of 20-30% is like 50-75% in the States as i could read... As far as I know the max. discount Lego is allowing for the retailers in Austria is 30% (TRU, Spar, Mueller). Small toy stores would be glad if they got a 30% price below MSRP. So, only things that stand on the shelf for years are -30% oder -50% (TMNT, Lone Ranger, CARS - things nobody wants). Last time I asked the TRU shop manager if he will give me some discount if I take all his 75052 Mos Eisley Cantinas (10 or so?!). He told me that on STAR WARS Lego he is not allowed to give any special discount. Only the advertised discounts (-10%, -15% or max. -20%) are working on Lego Star Wars at Toys'r'us. I bought only two for MSRP (79,99€).
Achilles
I for one, am not ashamed to admit that unless they hit 75% off, I will not be investing in any Angry Birds sets. And even then I might be skeptical.

Blockbuster
I like the look of the Angry birds sets, and if I was to purchase some it would be soley for personal build. On the Star Wars Millenium Falcon front I couldnt find any in Northern Ireland....disappointed
c_rpg
Checked out some more seals of candidates for retirement: kwik-e-mart: 36S6 tower bridge: 14S6 sydney opera house: 26S6 mini cooper: 36S6 t1 camper: 24S6 These were spotted at the store I mentioned earlier, so it appears their restocks are actually coming from new production runs except perhaps tower bridge. I didn't bother to check the TIE fitghter, F40, detective's office and brick bank because I don't think they are likely candidates.
DarthBall
kwik-e-mart: 36S6 Interesting. That means it's still being produced which means it's being sold. I always assumed it would be sold until stocks ran out.
