stephen_rockefeller Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 He already acknowledged it was a bad move. Quote
jaisonline Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Hmmm.... bad move I think as The Mine has been struggling to sell even at a good discount. I bought 10 at half price and then returned them before the 28 day deadline. Not a penny of mine is spent on the CITY theme anymore regardless of discount. You may notice that long retired vehicles have not got close to RRP yet. I hope you get something back. The only CITY set that I did well on was the 3182 Airport which has gone up 4x since purchase. I sold all mine at 3x. I'm done with City unless my son likes something, The Mine is a fantastic looking set. My prob is that I still have all of mine (no pun) at an avg price paid of $54 taking up storage space. Sad thing is I think this set is the only one still not retired in The City Mine theme :( Quote
Ciglione Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I think the City Mine is a nice set and one of a kind to my knowledge. So when it does retire it will go up in value after some time. I am convinced about that. So when I see one on discount I will buy it without a doubt. Offcourse when you bought it quite early you have to wait and sit out the ride. 1 Quote

Nice to see the difference between us market and european market. Totally different market? Less investors? Can we say that they will not retire soon? Exciting once again ;-) Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van Brickpicker Quote

But so was the FB. 10226 - could be a sleeper. It much less available than 10220. Maybe because its hard to display. 7938 & 7939, people say trains always to we'll but the CAGR on previous models seems a bit low. Only buy at a discount. Psssst does this mean this topic is finally back on topic? :P Quote

I bought a bunch when they were Quote
ron1264 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 ok folks, it appears the the GE is no longer available on Amazon, Target, and Walmart is is now listed on TRU's site as "Our Exclusive". I hope this doesnt become the norm for all other lego exclusives. What do ya think? 1 Quote

brickelements Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 When searching Wal-Mart.com I am not seeing it. Tried, Lego 10211, Lego Grand, Lego Modular. Nothing returns showing it in stock 1 Quote
c666187 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Just use the search box on the website I did, it is not there. I have searched "lego 10211" and lego grand emporium and neither shows up. I think it is gone now, unless someone can provide a direct link like I asked for before. Quote
brickelements Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Finally, I found it at the bottom of suggested products...WT? Why wouldn't it just show up in the search results. Nice. Quote

dbost01 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I think the OPs point is: Vampyre castle was once available at major stores and then became only available at Toys R Us and is it possible that Grand Emporium will go the same way. Quote

You all better hope TRU goes out of business if every large exclusive becomes a TRU exclusive after retiring on LEGO S@H. Quote

I have been hoping TRU goes out of business ever since they changed their shipping prices to Hawaii. Now "free" shipping to Hawaii is 29.99 no matter what. LOL what a joke. Hope they go down in a ball of flames. Quote
