waddamon Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Continuing the theme of this thread. I was just placing an order at LEGO and went to add the Friends Horse trailer set. It can no longer be ordered and is as good as gone, I ordered 5 last week all delivered on Sat.. It will most likely sit in this status until the next retirement update. All that are left now is Olivias House and Riding camp. Riding camp looks like the next to go. I have been waiting 2.5 months for them to fulfill an order of one. Quote
inversion Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 10235 WV Market is listed as retired along with 10229 WV cottage in Europe. The market only lasted like 6 month. I don't know if this was noted before though. http://search-en.lego.com/?q=winter&cc=HU Quote

waddamon Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I hope it sticks around as I am not ready to buy that one yet. I figured I had this Christmas season to load up. Quote
@rtisan Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Wonder if Winter Village Market will be back later this year though. If it`s not, anyone who bought them is in for a serious ROI. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Is 3187 Butterfly Beauty Shop a record for sitting at sold out without going to Retired on S at ****? I mean, it's been sold out for over a year right? Quote

I think it sticks around as long as stocks lasts. I believe LEGO considered it as a flop since this set is unattractive to many people in itself. But when they will try to complete their WV something will be missing to make the town busy... Quote
Miami Bomb Squad Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 As we are dumping cash into the EOL speculation pool, (GE SSD DS), Are we neglecting the Studio? What's the deal with this one? Back, but may go away at any moment? Anyone have any insights into this set? Quote

Back, but may go away at any moment? Anyone have any insights into this set? That set is one I would call a giant cluster<deleted>. I am staying away from it for now just because I don't want to invest $150 into it until we see what happens with it. Of course by then it may be too late. Quote

Was eyeing them up today for double VIP but with limited funds I went with a Sopwith and T1 Camper instead. Quote

hxckid88 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 regarding what i put in bold. maybe... probably to an extent. the modulars and winter sets are 'unique' as more sets are added annually and people think of them as collections (not so much as individual sets). there is a diff here. i own the eiffel tower and tower bridge sets but that isn't making me want to buy the sidney opera house. on the flip side, i just bought a winter market set along with a winter bakery to keep my winter collection complete (and i'm not a fan of the market set). in summary, most people are now learning just how special the modulars are. note: it isn't always about budget. many people simply do not have the storage space to buy 1-2 per month of multiple large boxed sets. that is why some people wait until the end.then their dumb. They should buy a bigger house or get rid of a kid. Quote

dbost01 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 regarding Toys R us using the exclusive label. VC wasn't a toys r us exclusive but now it is. So what says that GE cant become an exclusive for ToysRUs like the VC did? Quote
justgod Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 when did the mini modular get retired? Around December of last year. Brickset says it was available until December 13th in the US on LEGO Shop at Home. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Regarding GE being a TRU exclusive, Im not sure. But castle cavalry 70813 from the lego movie is also a "TRU exclusive" which is weird cause other retailers also carry it.It wouldn't be the first time Toys R Us has made a mistake or two on their website let alone trying to pull that sort of stunt. This still continues to be a favorite of mine for their sort of shenanigans. Well at least Castle Cavalry is selling for actual retail from Toys R Us instead of their 'normal' store price. Quote
