Retiring Soon - open speculation

To continue an earlier thread, here are the sets listed on S@H as "Retiring Soon":

Friends - Stephanie's Cool Convertible, Olivia's Speedboat, Mia's Bedroom, Series 1 foil packs

Duplo - Train Starter Set, Doctor's Clinic, Emergency Helicopter

Creator - Apple Tree House

Lego Games - Ninjago, Pirate Plank

Chima Speedorz - CHI Battles, Ring of Fire, Target Practice, CHI Waterfall

Technic - Mini Container Truck

LOTR - Gandalf Arrives, Orc Forge

CMF - Series 9

Architecture - Sugnyemun

Marvel Super Heroes - Captain America's Avenging Cycle

Star Wars - Endor Rebel Trooper and Imperial Trooper Battle Pack, Planet Bespin & Twin Cloud Car, Planet Endor & AT-ST

Nothing earth-shattering.  Orc Forge surprises me the most.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

I think they might have - it seemed to be the same size as DO that was in the same shelf.

Well that's (disgruntled) me off now, I think I'll calm down by throwing Friends Polybags at the Kangaroos that won't get off my yard. No I am not joking.

same size box as original - I saw these in store a while back with new expert logo - definitely in store before all of the glitches. (London store)

Please give us some video of that.  Not just the kangaroos... but them actually getting pelted with Friends polybags.  THAT I want to see.

Maybe the reason for the European supply shortage in Modulars has something to do with this - was in the store with my SO so didn't get a chance to check the Seal code. But if they have decided to adjust the PC boxes to the new expert logo I doubt this is going anywhere soon.

What is this going to do with the value of "old" boxes? I don't like this.

what's that hissing sound?

for a second i thought it was a leaking balloon, but no it was the sound of a thousand receipts being rustled in the wind.

chaos rules the day.  sold out - meaningless.  TOOS - sure it is.  limit 5 gone tomorrow.

And the new Ninjago Temple just got added to the site. So the Temple will replace ToO?

I'm sure that's the way J.R.R. Tolkien would have planned it.

The TLG is not worried about resellers (IMO), but it would not surprise me if there is an office pool on how long this thread will get before Christmas.

Lego "retiring" sets is part of the culture, and it is worldwide. It is bigger than resellers and has been part of the Lego culture for some time. That being said, my bet is for over 400 pages. Go big or go home.

Wait a minute...I thought slow and steady wins the race?  I've been buying these up for months now.

So you are telling me : sold out doesn't mean retired !!!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaat... Tsk tsk tsk

That's 2194 pieces, while the old had two more. So they changed a bit more than just the box. I wonder what...

TOO performance has been disheartening on Amazon. For a 200$ set to be oos for months and price stagnating at 260 , that is a telling sign IMO .

Don't know when this happened or if it has been reported but 42030 Remote-Controlled VOLVO L350F Wheel Loader is also TOOS

Was OOS for long time, new set....just OOS...dont worry and move along...

What is RE for set?
