hxckid88
Sorry BA I did not mean to imply buying it right now at MSRP. Thanks for clarifying. I meant I think near its end of life if you did not get one at $140 from Amazon UK I still think it will be a reliable investment. I think the chance for another Amazon UK deal is high. There has been 2 or 3 rounds of it already? Yeah, the best one came while I was meeting the gfs grandparents and stuffing my face with mashed potatoes and Turkey. Happy Thanksgiving to us all that day.
redcell
Lots and lots of talk for all the usual suspects retiring soon here (R5, ToO, PS, etc.). I'd be curious, any under-the-radar sets that have escaped hoarding/discussion? My one candidate here may be 42008, the Service Truck. Nice set, pneumatics and powered, and a decent buy-in at about $120. Rarely discussed here, and may disappear with little warning at any time. We had 42006 go 2 months ago with little warning, and 42008 is a better set. Speaking of Technic, 42009 the MkII Crane is another gem. It's certainly on the radar here, but still may be a good, less-hoarded candidate (though the recent Amazon UK sale at $150 was well advertised). This set is expected to go later this year, and a fabulous kit, perhaps the best Technic set ever. I'm bullish on this set post EOL; the previous tracked excavator is now a $450 set, and 42009 is at least as good. Were people really caught off-guard by 42006 retiring? I thought that was one of the more obvious ones last year.
exciter1
Don't get caught off guard by 10188 Death Star disappearing. I don't think it really matters when it goes. I know it's a running joke, but if you want a few, don't lose sight of it. I thought it might be important to bring up, since Double VIP is beginning this weekend. I really don't care how long it's been out there, how many are stockpiled, etc. etc. This thing will remain a winner even when it finally drifts off into the sunset.
tacsniper
After being limit 99 forever, PR is now limit 5 at LEGO Shop at Home. Retirement is surely imminent... You are joking right? With the highly anticipation of PS and PC fighting to be retired soon, are we are now adding PR into the fight? I say more like somone finally caught on they didn't put a limit on this SKU. Ed Mack
Does anything relating to how many you can order have anything to do with a hint of what will potentially retire soon; case example;http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/The-Tumbler-76023?fromListing=listing Batman Tumbler which only 1 can be ordered as opposed to;http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/MINI-Cooper-10242?fromListing=listing Mini Cooper or Camper van of which i can order 5 of each ThanksMaersk Triple E used to be 1 and/or 2 purchase limit. It is now a 5 with "Retiring Soon" tags. So there is something going on with that set. Either it lost popularity or LEGO made too many after being in short supply. It is difficult to predict off of purchase limits. It is one piece of the puzzle.

It will be able to remain forever. Haha
Levano
Nothing special. PR is a couple of months in Holland at lego.nl limited to 5. DO on the other half is limited to 1. I do think this means nothing. I think this rather means there out of stock due to double VIP points. What might be interesting is that the stock of TB is again empty at Lego.nl

exciter1
A couple more milestones reached on Amazon this morning. SSD is now around $825 and Town Hall has crested $500 at a decent margin, now sitting at $525.

exciter1
how easy to sell with this price? I think if you put them out there at this price they'd sell in a few months. That was me answering safely.
GhostDad
I would say a reliable sale price on eBay right now is $760 with free shipping. That would be if you wanted the set to sell in a few days. It is a significant rise over the past few months.
mudcatsfan
Fallingwater falling from availability? Some news on this one. Been OOS from Lego.com for a while, but now completely missing from the site. ** Edit, its missing if you search on Architecture, but Falling Water, SOH, and ESB are all findable if you click on the category of architecture End Edit ** Empire State and Sydney Opera house were also OOS for a while, but they were also discounted and OOS, which seems to be the new "retiring soon" label (see TH, R2, HH for examples). Since Fallingwater was OOS but NOT discounted, it seemed like it was less "retiring soon" than those other two sets. But now ALL are gone from the site search, AND the previously retired Farnsworth House is gone too ....Interesting). News part 2, it's now GONE from amazon.com finally (up to $137 shipped). There are still quite a few in my local B&****** stores, but with this now gone from ALL online retail outlets in the US, this one might finally be headed out. What is the international availability? hxckid88
Many arch sets have gone oos on Amazon over the weekend..... Others have reduced limits.... Pretty much all at retail. Very very odd. I'd be buying white houses. Just a hunch. Many signs. Imperial hotel is the other one that stands out to me. Feels. Like this is the first time it hasn't been on sale via Amazon. Teo weeks ago sea cow was pulled from Amazon, it was pulled again this evening. Odd. Thoughts? Bold-Arrow
Sea cow was pulled due to costumer complaints , I wouldn't reach too much into it. Happens often with the large sets they sell. They have been doing a horrible job packing .

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Brickpicker mobile app White house and Imperial hotels were the next two targets for me, but the way these sets tend to lag behind at B&****** even after clear retirement signs, i can't help continuing to load up on things that feel closer to EOL like ESB, SOH, and Falling Water, not to mention actual retired sets like Farnsworth, (find one or two every month) and even Guggenheim (just found last month). However White House and Imperial Hotel will certainly be on my list soon. Seeing the UN on sale at Lego B&M stores really surprised me, perhaps its jumping the EOL line? I'd be unprepared for that. Was that confirmed nation wide, or was that just one weird store? Edited March 17, 2015 by mudcatsfan

jay4e
interesting thebrickfan.com has actually posted that PS is retiring soon: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-creator-modular-pet-shop-10218-retiring-soon/ however I see nothing posted on any LEGO Shop at Home site, or any other confirmation. Anyone know how reliable their sources are? I dont general see them post stuff like this unless its officially tagged by Lego.
