MartinP
No, I highly doubt your average person who is interested in this set and saying, "wow, this is great, I'd buy it right now if those logos were printed, but since they're stickers, I'm not interested." Agreed. There are probably a few people who won't buy it just because the bricks are not printed.
GhostDad
It's not hard to read reviews of the set and see mention of the 10,000 container stickers. I'd read a review of a $150 set before buying. $150 buys a lot in the toy marketplace. And this is not exactly a cheap set. If Lego can make money selling a GE at the same price as EEE, but with 50% more pieces, they can certainly make money selling a EEE with printed containers. It's not like they'd be lettering them by hand or something.

I'd read a review of a $150 set before buying. Maybe you would. But as far as my experience goes 99% of the people don't think (or even read) before buying. Researching on the internet? No way!
beatpoppa
Stickers sound like murder, but it's a big boat and those go have been known to go up EOL.

biniou
I was wondering... #KAOS Is it possible the power function will retire ? Or at least, that trains will use some other engines ? New engines more powerfull, smaller, using less batteries, etc. It would explain why the 60051 and 60052 train sets are sold out (are they still produced ?) and another train is coming. stephen_rockefeller
This is why topics have pages and pages of useless nonsense. Someone tries to be funny and says the Slave 1 THAT JUST CAME OUT is retiring and then a bunch of newer members start panicking and asking questions about it and it's no fault of their own. Can we keep the nonsense to a minimum please?

biniou
Not sure if you are talking about me but I was serious about the motorization of the trains. The motors included in the power function sets will not stay forever in the catalog and someday Lego will change it (for a new version). The motors included in the power function sets will not stay forever in the catalog and someday Lego will change it (for a new version). Every time any of the power functions sell out at LEGO Shop at Home the eBay prices spike. Same for the remotes and IR sensors. I've been lucky enough to flip several sets of them for decent money. One of those "under the radar items".

Locutus001
I do not think that LEGO will retire the power functions anytime soon. They will add new items to this line and probably exchange some of the old items for better ones over time though. Power functions really are cool and they make LEGO so much more appealing to A LOT of people.
BrickU
I wonder what there reasoning is behind this bump $5 each time.......between the Creative Tower on Walmart? Is it possible that a set like this could be carried year round as an exclusive online? Why Not? Why does Lego get so "creative" no pun intended with the classic bricks & changes the box size & colors each year? Its not like they haven't been around for 60 years. Just to add a little fuel to the fire... I also wonder if its possible that the DS never retires? I mean who's to say it will for sure? Could it be the only Star Wars set to continue to be produced without the Trademark? Its a 2 for Tuesday on a lazy Saturday.
GhostDad
If Lego bumped the price to $500, I could see them keeping DS around. Because $500 is where they'd price that set if it came out today. It's an amazing deal for the pieces, minifigs, etc. I'd also like to see them correct the spelling of Tarkin's name on the box (Tarken? Really Lego?). I can't believe they don't proof read this stuff...
