TheOrcKing Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 The Captain America vs. Hydra set seems to have disappeared from my retailers including the spot for it. Rather early to consider retirement but perhaps it might go before the others from the same wave? Lego did once retire the police mobile command post (I think that's what it's called). It was listed as retired product for awhile, then renumbered (but exact same model) and re released. It is still on store shelves at Target. That's the only example I can think of in which a set truly un retired. Are you referring to this year's version of the Mobile Police Unit? The current model (60044) is different from the last (7288) albeit the difference is slight. Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Did anyone notice didn't the Friends Pet Salon show up on the retiring soon page at LEGO Shop at Home? Now it doesn't and it does not have the tag on its page either? I see that the last one sold for Quote
mscheaf Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Sets can "unretire" the WVM was one of them. I knew this was coming as soon as I started reading about 4 posts back. Quote
cladner Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) retiring soon is a meaningless ploy . look how long 6862 has been retiring soon. things that have this tag linger a long time. things that actually retire rarely say "Retiring soon" they just go out of stock. To me "retiring soon" means - we have too much and want to get rid of some, so um , its retiring soon. Edited November 14, 2014 by cladner 2 Quote
hayya14 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 The following sets are retiring! 75019 AT-TE 75018 Jek-14's Stealth Starfighter 9493 X-Wing Starfighter (there will likely be a new one before Episode VII, so I would not recommend buying a bunch of these if you're thinking about profiting from the set being retired) 75041 Vulture Droid 75039 V-Wing Starfighter 75003 A-Wing Starfighter 75002 Mandalorian Speeder Quote

Young_Gun21 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Jek-14 is an interesting set. With how prices have been trending though I personally am not expecting any gains after EOL. Target will have them for $42 on BF. Does anyone see anything good about this set? It is Star Wars but it kind of fits in like Chima in a modular street. 1 Quote

Alfiepops Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 nothing will ever beat the Millenium Falcon I really wouldn't say the MF will never be beaten hannibal, It will be knocked off its perch someday. The speculative talk of new MF in the wings could unhinge the current champion, so who knows. Maybe the SSD is going to usurp the MF if it never gets remade and a simular MF does? I'm keeping mine one and only SSD for a long time anyway. Quote

belljohn Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Tower Bridge is out of stock at Lego US. Who wants to bet half of the exclusives retire this year? I don't think so, but the Christmas shortages sure make a reseller's life fun. Quote
