Retiring Soon - open speculation

Recommended Posts

Not true. Dr Strange is a TRU exclusive, and can also be found at the Lego website (though not in stores). I got mine at TRU. I think it could possibly disappear soon, but TRU exclusives do not have a good history of doing that. Wal-mart exclusives like the Ra's al Ghul set are a likelier contender in my book. Ant-man and Raptor Escape were both Wal-mart exclusives last year and disappeared right quick.

I doubt Ecto disappears within a year of release.

Edit: see someone already replied. Left phone on this thread for like 30 mins didn't refresh lol

Since the show is a lot more unpopular here than it is in the US, it wouldn't surprise me if it retires here a year before the US. When the Simpsons House went out of stock in the UK, eBay prices still struggled to reach RRP which is not a very good sign. I remember when the Architecture Studio was sold out in the US before it was even launched in the UK.

If only Netflix would acquire the rights, that could help it's revival. Hoping that happens one day. It's still a show that was quite a hype over here 15 years ago - I remember everyone I was studying with raving about it. I think these are the people that are now at the end of their thirties / beginning of their 40ies, perfect AFOL age(?), and might one day wake up and want the set

5x 21305 Maze are still backorderable in the UK. So far, any backorder that I've placed has always been fulfilled, even those 41999 Technic Crawlers!

The maze isn't for me and I've not ordered any but, hope it's available for those that want them.

Visited today Leicester Square to get Winter Train, Maze is full stock, shelves are overloaded I'd say.
So I'd recommend to everyone to not to get too excited about Maze retirement.

Ra's Al Ghul is a walmart exclusive in the US outside of shop at home.

cory730 said "Doctor Strange exclusive to Target if this is U.S thread still"

I stand humbly corrected - thought they were at toysrus and/or walmart and/or target and/or Kmart among others but micbelt and cory730 are correct for US markets.  I remember seeing the Ra's al ghul set a Kmart exclusive in Australia.  Thanks for that.  Just goes to show me there are too many sets for ME to keep track.

In the UK... Retiring Soon up from 296 to 297 overnight and Retired Product from 710 to 711. Their list sorting isn't brilliant so which 2 sets are they? No, it's not T1 or TB ;-(

I'm hoping it makes it until at least January.   I don't really like it but I know I'll kick myself if I don't buy one.

I'm the same, think i'm going to get one to cover bases, spending the VIP points i have will certainly make it risk free.

I think Classic 60's Batcave will go before Helicarrier.

I think it has probably been a hugely disappointing set in terms of sales for Lego, even discounted it just doesn't shift units in UK. A playset designed on a theme only adults will appreciate, i still can't fathom what lego were thinking.

GBHQ works because as well as being a play set it delivered as a display piece or as an addition to a modular town.
