Retiring Soon - open speculation

Recommended Posts

For whatever it's worth, LegoLand is developing their new Ninjago area. When that opens (2017), they are closing the Chima area and refurbing it to a new theme, possibly Nexo? Will be interesting to see.

I think they WANTED to replace Ninjago with Chima, and that clearly didn't work out, Ninjago is still a popular and steady theme, so I don't expect it to go anywhere for a while. How long Nexo lasts is a different story. If they are dropping Bionicle and Hero Fac completely, and Nexo is the new thing expected to replace it - We shall see. Whatever they re-theme the Chima ride too could be telling.

Ninjago isn't going anywhere for a while.

Haha I guess Maze was truly an abysmal seller. Fairground I like personally, but does not surprise me.

I think the maze is dreadful but, could it be a sleeper set? My money is on the Exo Suit being more desirable.

Retiring soon also on Maze, Doctor Who, WallE and Big Bang but not on Ecto 1

ecto-1 is sold out so hopefully they don't revive it to slap a tag on it.

santa's workshop is not labeled as retiring soon and is still backordered but orderable.  argh.

sith infiltrator, anakin's custom jedi, battledroid carrier, hailfire droid sets have the retiring soon tag.

Santas workshop is a no show in all the lego stores I've been to from Hawaii, Seattle and New York. I should say all stores I've been to that sell lego.

Ewok Village retiring soon tag has been removed

Lego is saying to us "it's was only a prank bro"

Maybe they just realised they can't retire it soon because they have so much stock left.

Anyway, still has the retiring soon tag over here. I think it's just a mistake.

Very low demand for maze, so it will depend on how much stock they have. Let's keep an eye on bricklink figures. Currently it's at: 132/17 supply/demand and 81.66€/85.47€ sell/ask.

There was some buzz about the maze when it first came out, but it died out within a couple of weeks after the release. The main advantage of this set is that it was only available at Lego.com afaik, so it's not like they would have produced a ton. That also means hardly any discounts for this set.

Not sure if anyone noticed. On Canada site Fairground Mixer is listed as Retiring soon as well as others SC , OH, PS as mentioned on Europe site.

Oh, I for one did not. That's another item with rather big growth potential, significant news.
