marcandre
2 Someone made a big order or something is buggy. Usually it would say only 2 left.
waddamon
You can only order two at a time, not the same as only two available. It must have been 50 someones.
Bold-Arrow
I don't trust Amazon's inventory count anymore especially after the SSD mess. I find it hard to believe that R2 dropped from 115 (when I checked before midnight) to just 2. why would 50 individual buyers (best case scenario), all of a sudden jump on it in the middle of the night? the numbers have been slowly dropping and just to see a sudden spike in buying doesn't add up . It wasn't reported on BP or SD either, so to me it doesn't add up. one to keep an eye on I guess
DoNotInsertIntoMouth
I'm thinking the same thing. The release for this set really felt short, maybe a little over a year? Wow, just checked Brickset (01 Aug 13 - now). If its gone, it will be $200 by christmas.
Bold-Arrow
Still says 2, I wonder if amazon wont left you see the inventory count anymore when the purchase quantity is restricted
exciter1
If its gone, it will be $200 by christmas. I was thinking exactly the same. It should still sell really well this Christmas.
game
Yeah this seems fishy.... I don't think those SSD's were all purchased overnight from amazon either. Somebody find that guy who can look up the real inventory number on amazon, for the R2. I don't trust Amazon's inventory count anymore especially after the SSD mess. c666187
Looks like they fixed the ability for us to creep on their inventory. Sopwith, Town Hall, And R2 all show as only 2 left...

What if this would be true? That would cause a major shock on this forum! The panic buying would start as never seen before!

Others may want to try it, but I can no longer increase the quantity in cart larger than the purchase quantity.
ISO8T0
I agree with Bold regarding Amazon. We've seen some strange stock #s and supply (oos etc) that aren't just limited to Amazon for SSD and R2. I don't think this iconic set is going anywhere. How would R2 be diferent in Episode 7 than the current version? Is Lego going to invest $ for a revamped R2 for 2015? holleman67
I.thought that had been the case? If they impose a buying limit you are not avle to check the available quantity? Was thay way when 6862 first dropped the $15 and they only let you buy
BearCrash
SSD @ Amazon is only available from third party sellers. Looks like Amazon is OOS.
Bold-Arrow
you could always check quantity regardless of buying limit. you can only add 2 (taking r2 ex), go to cart edit to 999 , it will show -lets say- 76 left, then once you check out it goes back to 2.. looks like loophole is closed

Darth_Raichu
After testing it, it sure looked like Amazon fixed the 999 in cart trick. I could not decide if that would fuel or diminish the panic buyings
Bold-Arrow
So you are seeing what I am? No more creeping on their quantities. ... As of this morning the 999 check is no longer valid for limited quantity items it seems

knarrff
R2d2 is avaliable at your local Barnes and Noble for 120.00 after tax. It it only would be. B&****** does not have it in their online system, so the stores cannot even order it if go there and tell them I want it. I tried, in two different stores. So, unless you happen to stumble across a store that still has it you are probably out of luck.
Enduro
Recently bought Pet Shop, GE and the Sopwith. Was getting especially nervouse about the GE and had been putting it off. May pick up another one. But the sets I don't have but am concerned might be EOL this year: Arkham Asylum Tower of Orthanc VW Batcave (really dislike this set though) R2 Town Hall

trekgate502
Do you all really think Tower of Orthanc could be gone this year? It was just released July of 2013.
