fossilrock Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Should we really increase the MIn.Wage?Wow, i'd be irked to no end, if I received a 300.00 exclusive in that condition. Quote
Val-E Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Jørn Utzon would not have liked that modification, I fear. Quote
Grynn Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 reports of the SOH demise were greatly exaggerated...Not sure anyone really reported demise, but I admit I was one who thought it was probably gone - twice now. 21R5 seals in a local store yesterday.helped convince me otherwise. I was really going to buy it, too... 1 Quote
mscheaf Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Should we really increase the MIn.Wage?Yes because it was the min wage worker who made the decision to ship stuff like that, not the million dollar executive who is trying to save a few pennies and doesn't give 2 s**ts if your lego gets to you safely. Should we lower the maximum wage? Quote
biking_tiger Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 And this, friends, is why I don't buy large sets from Wally World anymore. 1 Quote
Miami Bomb Squad Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) So, I went to return it at the Store, they wanted to credit me back only $68.The computer shows that I paid $320, but will only allow $68 credit. No wonder they are the richest family in the United States. Val-E Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Wow, I wish Paypal offered a 68 USD max liability claim for sellers! Edited June 4, 2015 by valenciaeric Quote

That's pretty good. Quote
Miami Bomb Squad Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 How is that even possible ? Can you get a manager's override ?This is exactly what I was referring to with my Min. Wage comment.Nobody wants to go the extra mile, especially in Wally World. I would have spent another hour in there and still end up where I would have ending up.Im just going to slap a return label on it and ship it out just like they did.Do you think 15% off is a good discount? Quote
MathBuilder Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Do you think 15% off is a good discount? 21.25%? Quote
Val-E Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 21.25%?For superficial packaging damage it is hard to get more than that - Amazon draw the line thereabouts too and the ban hammer will come out if you push too much. Another thing entirely is that the package was open and parts missing. To be fair, how many of us sellers would be willing to refund more to avoid a neg or paypal NAD claim? You have to open the box to build the thing anyway is the stock answer. Quote
freakchem Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 One trick is that you can use a hair dryer to blow the label without damaging the box. Hope it helps. Quote
StevenRuegg Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Just broke into the "Lego investing world" and Sydney Opera House was my first purchase, yay! 2 years later lol Quote
kf852 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Found Good deals on SOH.it will cost me $329 + tax (around 9%) on amazon or lego.comHowever, it's only $285 on jet.com (no tax and buy two of them, waive return fee). it's much cheaper!Although I originally not planned to buy it as it's just out for 2 years and may be a while to return. I still order 2 of them. Do you think it's a good deal? Quote
