UK stores have not got the hang of clearance.

I was shopping in Tesco today and noticed they had lego on the clearance isle. Thought I might get a good deal.

They had about 10 9469s here reduced from

Weren't they the ones that dropped the passenger train 7938 to 59.98 gbp though resulting in the Amazon.uk price match?

I hate it when store label things "clearance" and it's the same or worse than a general sale they usually have.  To me "clearance" means they want to get rid of them pronto and should be selling close to cost or even below just to move them out.

A clearance for me here is when prices reach almost US RRP and is cheaper than I can import it. Other than that it really isn't worth my time.

And they put clearance labels on the boxes that will rip the cardboard when you try to remove it!

I bought a 9470 for 25% off at the same store which was not on clearance.
