stephen_rockefeller
Did anyone else notice this set sold out in the first few days it was available at the LEGO shop? Very strange I thought.
Fcbarcelona101
Did anyone else notice this set sold out in the first few days it was available at the LEGO shop? Very strange I thought. Hopefully this is because the set is more popular than most of us thought it would be. A testament of the bright future of the set, if this is the case. Huskers1236
Very good for the line as well. The more Lego sees LotR sell well, the more lines they will hopefully make.
JoshTX
My son is loving his PSA, Ican see why it sold out. Its also a good chance for people to get a decent ship that didn't want to plunk down inflated prices for a QAR or Black Pearl. I think this set will rise as well once retired. LowestFormOfWit
More evidence it's going to be the flagship of this new line, investment wise. Har har har.
stephen_rockefeller
I think that the Tower of Ornthac will be the flagship, but I think the ship is way cooler, I will definitely be getting one to build and I don't even like LOTR
LowestFormOfWit
I'm talking about the line more readily available. ToO seems more like a Haunted House type set. Part of the franchise, but separate from the line in a way. Also, my birthday is in the smack middle of July. Tower of Orthanc looks real....possible. =D
stephen_rockefeller
I can agree with that!
Diabolos80
Is Lego planning an early release for VIP members for Orthanc? July 1st is so far away...

Grolim
Could just be a logistics issue with the supply, but agree it does hint at stronger demand than anticipated. That's a really good sign.

akohns
Already saw a bunch of these at TRU and Target has already marked their shelves for this set in my area. I'm noticing most of their LOTR area is bare so either they've not restocked or they've pulled them from the shelves.

Yep. Both Target I visited last night had the labels for the new sets and still had Monster Fighter sets sitting in some of those spaces. Asked the guy working in the toy area about if they were going to clearance the MF sets to make for the new LOTR and he scanned it and said it's still an "Active" item in the system. My guess is they will be clearning out all the first wave LOTR sets but maybe the Uruk-hai Army 9471 & Mines of Moria. 9471 seems to always be in stock. Plus target.com is showing Helms Deep "not sold in stores" yet I know I've seen them in Target in the last couple weeks so that's def on it's way out. Mines of Moria I heard is still in for the rest of the year.
