Marker Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Ewok attack time to buy now? What do investors think about stocking up on the Ewok attack set will this be a must have for the Ewok village owners? Quote
Blackjack Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Since you get essentially the same thing in EV I don't think that it is 'essential', but it will definately be helped along by the EV with people purchasing them as booster packs. Quote
Darth Lego Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 If you want to buy this set for investment than I would wait. Usually investors wait for sales to maximize their profit. The other thing with this set is it might not retire for 2+ years and most investors don't want their money to be tied up that long. If you are a collector and love the Ewok scenes from The Return of the Jedi than by all means get it. I would assume many Ewok fans are happy that they finally released a treetop village. EDIT: I confused the Ewok Attack with the new Ewok Village. My bad. Quote
exciter1 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hmmm, I just assumed it was already retired? I stocked up on 6-7 of these during clearance sales the first of the year. I do still see the Rebel/Scout booster packs on shelves. Quote
Darth Lego Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Probably a decent idea. It reminds me of bundling sets like Jabba's Palace and the Rancor Pit. That is also true with the Desert Skiff and the new Jabba's Sail Barge. I think that's a great idea to at least bundle this with a couple of the villages. Quote
Blackjack Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Yeah, that battle pack might see some growth because of EV. Quote
Ed Mack Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Maybe an AT-ST set would be a wise investment as well. It's hard to tell the scale, but there are options and will probably be new ones as well. Quote
blueremains Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Do you guys think that retail ($25) is too much to pay for Ewok Attack at this point? Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I would say yes, too much to pay. There's a couple on shelf in my area, some for clearance down in the $13 to $17 range. I don't think it sold particularly well. IIRC it got price slashed in most retail locations by $5.00 and it still couldn't move. It's not that I don't think it could be a hit with the upcoming Ewok set, it's just that right NOW, with $25.00 I could make so many smarter choices with better ROI in a shorter time period. Quote
Marker Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 I believe that the ewoks in this set both differ from the village ones ? Quote
StarPod Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I say stock up on battle of Endor. They are still fairly cheap as far as above retail and once the village hits people will find the bunker a necessity 2 Quote
Blackjack Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I believe that the ewoks in this set both differ from the village ones ? I think that the tan 'Logrey' one is the same in both sets, but the others are exclusive. Quote
Marker Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Too bad they don't ship to Canada.. I think the tree that comes with the Ewok attack set will fit in nicely with the EV set as well.. Quote
Grolim Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Definitely a good idea. I like the AT-ST inclusion as well. All the Ewok sets could see interesting times ahead. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/3437-ewok-based-sets/ Quote

I bought to completely opened and crushed boxes last year at Walmart and already sold them . At least I made a pretty penny on them. But they would have been even better 6 months from now! Quote

Anakinisvader Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I bought a grip of these on clearance after Christmas and now I'm glad I did. I have been piecing them out little by little. Maybe I'll hold on to a few and sell them when the big one is released. Quote
