For those have been around a while, is it normal for the total value of ebay lego listings to jump from 65 million dollars to 101 million dollars in two months? I noticed that the jump from mid-March to mid-April was pretty impressive (65 to 80 million) and was a bit shocked to see it jump again in the next month 80 - 101 million. Are there enough buyers out there? Too many investors? What did last year look like? What is the Christmas selling season goint to look like?

Don't forget, it is no longer just data from the US. It is also data from the UK, EU and Australia. So the amount of listings is quite a bit larger. At some point I may break that number out separately. But that is why the jump is much larger on a monthly basis overall.

That stat includes sold listings, right? It's a bit confusing. Was it 100 million in sales last month? All-time? Or is there 100 million dollars of Lego available on ebay right meow?

It's the amount and value of overall listings in our database that make up the price guide. It is sold listings that have been aggregated since we started. Nothing to do with current eBay listings

Well that means sales jumped near 25 million the month before last. No shortage of buyers, then. Lots of people were spending leftover christmas and tax return money on Lego. Odds are new people will be doing it next year, too. I wonder what percentage of all those sales were over retail? How many were used sets? Minifigures? If someone is shooting for that Haunted House prize, a thorough breakdown of ebay sales could offer insight into the demographics and diversity of Lego consumers.

may be cause eBay got no listing fee promotion ???...

I guarantee that is what it'a from. i follow a bunch of sellers and sell myself. My listings and theirs with stores have almost doubled in listings since store owners now have a certain amount of free listings per month

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its only sold items that make it into that number correct? Because I would assume the amount of buy it now legos on eBay, etc that don't get sold is close to double that number.

All listings are sold listings only.

There have been a ton more 7 day auction listings for minifigs starting at $0.99 that pretty much just repeat every week by certain sellers. Before May, store owners were charged higher insertion fees for auctions, now they too are free up to a certain amount.
