Blackjack Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I see staggering potential in this theme. LEGO has spent years rehashing crappy old idea's, and now something new is here. The sets already released are great in my opinion, but there are so many other great idea's in this theme. I don't play the game, and it is very old, but lots of the designs are great, and would be a relief from the monotany of remakes. The only downside I can see is that the game is pretty old, and with the shutting down of the Lucas Arts game division, there is little chance for a new one. I have all of the OR sets to date, and I'm going to get the Jedi Defender - class Cruiser when it comes out. I really like these sets, the minifigures are great, and I hope they keep rolling out. Do you think that we will get new sets next year? Quote

stephen_rockefeller Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 It came out in 2011.....and it was super lame IMO. Quote
Blackjack Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 I thought the game just came out like last year? It's been a while since the original was released, I didn't hear of a new game... The mystery deepens... :coolhmm: Quote

Huskers1236 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I think you're thinking of "Knights of the Old Republic". Star Wars "The Old Republic" came out December 2011(according to Amazon), and is where these sets are coming from, though I suppose there are similarities between the two games. Quote

JoshTX Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Was is an MMOG? "Massive Multiplayer Online Game" - At least I think that's what it means. I prefer single player games myself, for the most part. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I think he was asking if it was one......that's what I gathered anyway. Quote

nolanfan34 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Note that while Lucasarts was shuttered, they just announced that EA would be the new maker of future Star Wars franchise games. So they won't stop completely. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Blackjack, I think your post is rather confusing. I think you are talking about the old KoTOR game, but yet you are praising the sets based on the new MMORPG. Although they are more or less the same era, I doubt KoTOR has much to offer in terms of LEGO. It has been a while since I played KoTOR (and I never played OR), but IIRC there were very few ships, much less starfighters shown in KoTOR. What it had was a wealth of characters & sidekicks, abilities, and structures/buildings. The last part was basically because you travel form planet to planet. I am not seeing too many potential for LEGO sets based on KoTOR Quote
Blackjack Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Sorry, I'm just wondering if they'll continue the theme. Quote
Grolim Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 By "continue the theme" does that mean there are existing sets based on those games? Quote
Diabolos80 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 The Sith Fury-class Interceptor is hands down my favorite non-ucs star wars set. The TIE styling really caught my eye, and it turned out to be a really neat build. It also comes with Darth Malgus, arguably the coolest minifigure ever. Anyone think it might be a sleeper hit? I've only got the one I built but I might look at picking up more when they hit clearance. Quote
kerrmando Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 ^ I love the Sith Fury Class. It's an incredible build and yes Darth Malgus ranks fairly high on my favorite minifigure list. I only have a few of the sets but will definitely be picking up more when I can find a good deal. A sleeper for sure Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I prefer single player games myself, for the most part. Same here. I like being able to load up a game and play for a few relaxing minutes here & there; not being forced to have to find a bunch of other people to 'quest with' just to complete one darn thing. Oh yeah, and then have a fight over who gets what, or get pawned off as a 'noob' or whatever because I don't know all the quick keys and such. Then you have players that seem to have nothing better to do than kill off every other player just cause. :-S I'm sure they are 'good' players out there but I got tired and sore real quick from the world of MMOs. Give me my stupid Galaga or Smash TV over World of Warcraft any day of the week. I want a real game, not a virtual chat room! Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I find MMORPG boring due to minimum level requirements. Basically you need to spend a lot of time buying healing, hack & slash, monsters, get gold, buy more healing/armor, rinse and repeat before you are good enough to do certain quests. On single player games, I get to build my level at my own pace while advancing the storyline.ETA: I could not remove the ; after the word slash no matter how many times I tried. Is it a bug in the forum sw ? Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'm not sure why the semicolon ( was appearing exactly but I did figure out how to get rid of it. I just added a space on both sides between the ampersand (&). Check out what I did below. jack&jill; jack & jill For some reason having the ampersand 'connected' automatically creates the semicolon. I have no idea why and I work with code everyday pretty much. Just add a space on both sides of the "&" symbal and that should clear things up. Quote

Give me my stupid Galaga or Smash TV over World of Warcraft any day of the week. I want a real game, not a virtual chat room! Pretty much the same reasons for me. I just don't have the time to devote tothat kind of stuff. I can pickup or put down a single playergame when I want. My neighbor's relationship with his girlfriend and his social life suffers because he has specific times he meets with people he met on the internet to play Diablo. That would be fine, except for that its one of those things you have to keep up with all the time. If you stop and try to come back to it, you aren't competitive with the same people anymore. Quote

I adore the set, but it's a little sad how Lego went 'star destroyer' on it and turned what is supposed to be a large shuttle and attack craft into little more than a large starfighter. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 My neighbor's relationship with his girlfriend and his social life suffers because he has specific times he meets with people he met on the internet to play Diablo.Speaking of Diablo, that is one of those games where even though everything about it is exceptionally well done, the gameplay itself is (for lack of a better word) very, very, very, boring. I bought the second one sometime after it came out and the expansion pack separately, and despite everything I can't enjoy it. Now to be fair, when you first start playing it is pretty fun and cool going around exploring, but jeeze louis it gets ridiculousy difficult fast and you basically just stand there hoping to hit something before you get killed....again. The game felt designed around the Sorceress class really and I ended up having to resort to using an editor to 'hack' my stats to max just to be able to finally complete the darn thing after years of owning it. Trying to gain enough experience to go up so much as one level is extremely tedious and drawn out, and it doesn't help much at all anyway. Here's a spoiler for ya. In the end of Diablo II, you still lose! I couldn't believe it. You go through all that to stop the three Prime Evils (Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal) which you do, but they still accomplished their goal of corrupting the Worldstone before you stop the last of the three! So in essence despite all of what you were put through, you still got screwed in the end! What the f***.... :shut:Well, that was countless hours and about $70 wasted. :-S Quote
