New eBay Listing Requirements

I am hoping this doesn't affect anyone, but there are a few new rules in place in the eBay selling world. If listing a "used" item, you can no longer use stock photos from the eBay album. You have to take a picture of the actual item. I hope most, if not all of the sellers here have been already doing this, so it shouldn't affect you much, but it's just a reminder.

I think that this is a good thing because it decreases the chances of a scam, even though it is only on used items. It's a start though! ;)

Totally agree. Why not show the item you plan to sell? I think not only "used", also ebay should apply it to "new" item. A good seller will take pictures of the item he or she wants to sell just to honestly show what exactly you will be getting.

I don't really think it would stop the hard core skeezers..........you could just take a picture from someone's legitimate auction or just find one on the internet and use it.

I was thinking this as well.

Why wouldn't they just grab some photos from Brickset or do a a google image search.

This is why I often include handwritten notepaper in front of whatever I'm selling when I'm taking a photo. Makes it much tougher for others to copy my image, but of course anyone with photoediting skills would be able to put in his own stuff over the notepaper, but honestly, would they really have the time to bother doing things like that? (hopefully not)

edit: to clarify: the notepaper would show my ebay user id.
