nolanfan34 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 This set has completely taken off of course since going EOL. Way more than other HP sets. From what I can gather, seems to be related to the 1 year on the shelf lifespan, and the inclusion of one-of-a-kind minifigs (Arthur, Molly, Bellatrix). One thing I haven't been able to tell looking at past threads - was this set exclusive to any retailer? Or was it available everywhere? Was in a dark age at the time outside of Star Wars sets, so I can't recall. And of course speculation on which set could be the next Burrow is welcomed as well. :-) Quote
shudameister Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I work in a Ma and Pa shop. We had it. It was prior to my investment period I came into the investment just as HP was going EOL. And I had entered the Dark Ages just as HP was getting started haha Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 The set wasn't an exclusive far as I know or can find out. I remember seeing it pretty much everywhere at the time. Quote
Snowcrash Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I bought one at a Barnes and Noble. If it was an exclusive, at least one set leaked out. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 It was available everywhere but for some reason just exploded. I sold out of them at $150 months ago. I was even ordering them from amazon uk and amazon fr just to get more in. It has completely dried up in the retail market from what I can gather. Quote
SlickP Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I cleaned out a bunch walmarts and sold them for $100 before Xmas. Should have held onto them a little longer. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Thanks all. That is what I wanted to hear. I think Weathertop has this sort of potential hopefully - similar short shelf life, exclusive figs (and horses), and a globally popular theme.... Quote
LowestFormOfWit Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Thanks all. That is what I wanted to hear. I think Weathertop has this sort of potential hopefully - similar short shelf life, exclusive figs (and horses), and a globally popular theme.... I hope you're right. Everyone here seems to have great expectations for Weathertop. I've got 7 loaded and ready. I paid dirt for them, so anyway I slice it I'll make a nice chunk of change, but I so want them to do well.
