Quacs Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 In the wake af the B-wing discount and a few people having what seems to be buyers remorse, if you could choose one set to discount for 50% what would it be? It can only be current sets, not upcoming or retired sets. I'm curious because there are so many ways people could go with this. Collectors would likely have a much different answer than investors. As an investor, I would love to see the Horizon Express at 50% off. Getting an almost guaranteed EOL winner at 50% off would be great. I bet there will be a lot off SSD responses...and not a bad choice either. Quote
@rtisan Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Interesting question. Definitely SSD for me. I was very disappointed when I didn`t see it on the list of May the 4th sales this year. Would have bought it for sure at even a 10% discount. 50% off would see me buy 4 or 5 hands down. Quote
Grolim Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Now that's an interesting poser of a question. I think Horizon Express would be a good one as well. Either that or R2-D2. Quote
Alcarin Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I would say Uruk-hai army, thats because I want to build 1000 uruk-hai soldiers on display and 50% off for them would make my work easier :P Quote
sadowsk1 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'd pay 200.00 for a death star. I've never been interested it at a higher price. Quote
Quacs Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Bump - I want to hear what others would discount. Next time I should probably start the forum post when the majority of members are awake. Quote
M4x18 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Buy and invest: 8110 Technic Unimog Buy and build: 10214 Tower Bridge Quote
comicblast Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I would like the SSD to be 50% off, or Hoth Echo Base, as a die-hard fan of Lego SW. Quote
trenty1990 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Ssd and death star for me lookreally good sets to build Quote
hepcatpunk Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 If it's 50% off, I want the most $ saved....SSD or Death Star. Quote
terrymc4677 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 to build it would be a death star. my son has been wanting one for over a year, but i can't see dropping $400 on a lego set for a seven year old to build. $200 would be awesome for that set. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The new UCS X-Wing, just because it will not happen in near future (it was just released yesterday) Quote
akohns Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I got a SSD on 50% of at Walmart in January. It must have been a Internet order return. Flipped it for a good profit. I think I shipped it to Australia for about a $150 profit after fees. Quote
akohns Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I think Tower bridge would be a great choice. I think it will be pure gold after reaching EOL status and it look like an amazingly fun set to build. Anyone got a used one they want to sell me? Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Either the SSD or Tower Bridge would be crazy deals to get! Quote
JoshTX Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'd pay 200.00 for a death star. I've never been interested it at a higher price. This. I just can't justify spending 400 on myself to build it. Quote
Hendog Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I am selfishly voting for the Death Star since I don't have one and only want to purchase one to build. My investor side is saying Tower Bridge tho.... Quote
Maverick2k1 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I would say SSD also. I currently only have one as an investment but definitely need one to build still. Quote
scottjs Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Interesting question. Definitely SSD for me. I was very disappointed when I didn`t see it on the list of May the 4th sales this year. Would have bought it for sure at even a 10% discount. 50% off would see me buy 4 or 5 hands down.I'm right there with you but I was hoping either the SSD or the DS. I'm not greedy I'll pay US MSRP instead of CDN MSRP, that's still 20% off in Canada. On the one hand I'm going to be a little upset if I miss out on either but I just have such a hard time paying Canadian MSRP. At 50% off I would be a complete mess. Quote
