ExoBro94 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I do not see this set being as popular, also. I don't even think we will see a period where it is temporarily out of stock in the beginning. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Ewok village is pretty expensive as well - I don't see much flipping value or anything there. At $250, to get maximum profit it would have to go up quite a bit. Selling on Ebay, with shipping you would have to sell it for $300 just to make a profit. Fun House, Orc Forge, Captain America Cycle - these are gonna be better holiday flips Quote
CNH1974 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Nope. Some people some to have forgotten the Ewoks aren't popular with many SW fans. Many fans have said the Ewok scenes ruined Jedi. Furthermore, most Ewok sets have performed so-so. For now, I say buy when discounted for building / play with kids. Children will love this set. I loved the Ewok battle when i was a kid in the 80's. And it's still a great part of the movie. Looking a the single picture this does not "look" like much of a set. But it has 1990 pieces and is a 10nnnn. But is it an exclusive? If so discounts may be hard to come by. Quote

Everything gets discounted once the the online stores have inventory. It just takes time and LUCK to be aware when it happens (e.g. Amazon's May 30th sale with Arkham, Horizon Express, Haunted House, etc... and last Nov / Dec when the modules, SSD, Death Star among others had a sale.). i also liked the Kenner set so much as a kid that my son has the robin hood version (found for $10 last year). Kids love it. With adults, it is more of a shot in the dark. Quote
wallwebber Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 If only 20k of ewok village were produced, then yes. Not the case tho. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 This opinion is colored heavily by my distaste of the Ewoks Unless the Ewoks make a prominent return in movie VII, I do not forsee any high demand for Ewok Village set after EOL. Death Star was iconic and was featured in 2 movies (plus shown in III) so it was a no brainer (we just need to see it EOL ) Lets just say I know some people who fast forward the Ewoks scenes when watching ep VI because they disturb the flow of the awesome final duel You mean you missed this????? Thanks for reminding me of this colossal waste of time. Quote
CNH1974 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 That's odd, the final duel on the Death Star kept interrupting the Ewok battle 4 Quote
hepcatpunk Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 That's odd, the final duel on the Death Star kept interrupting the Ewok battle This made me laugh out loud.....+1 to you sir. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 That's odd, the final duel on the Death Star kept interrupting the Ewok battle Haha different strokes etc This is probably the only Ewok scenes I can stomach, even the silly song works. Or maybe I just hate young Anakin force ghost more than the Ewoks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np6vAuS0KNs Quote

ExoBro94 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I love the ewoks!!! But I'm biased since I'm not the biggest fan of SW (*gasp*) and I pay so much attention to sets and costuming. Quote

I completely disagree - this set will do great after EOL because it is an insanely high quality play set and it has a high retail price. I don't see any serious Star Wars fan not wanting this. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Im a serious star wars fan and i dont want this :p Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Me neither.......but I think it will do OK investment wise. Quote

Diabolos80 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 When I was a child I had a traumatic experience with a stuffed ewok. My parents bought me it for xmas instead of a cool toy. Quote

CNH1974 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 They only did them cos they couldn't afford a planet of wookies. You could have a had a planet full of Jar Jars instead. ;P Quote
spener90 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 If anyone purchases this with the anticipation of it selling it for $500. I feel bad for you... This set won't be an investment set for at least 2 years. Quote

TheOrcKing Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Will the Ewok Village be the next hottest item since 41999? ....No. Quote
