not from a chiness company. no... theyre just labor, they don't own design nothing at all .. just copying in a crappy way quality products, which are not chiness

So there should be nothing wrong with lego made in china, since the chinese have been able to produce far more advanced consumer products.

You won't regret purchasing this set, big sets on my shelf at present are Hogwarts castle, sandcrawler, new falcon and EV. EV always gets most comments, and is certainly my favorite. Plus the nostalgia of the build being a huge SW fan made it worth every penny. The detail is brilliant, leagues ahead of the new hoth set!! If possible I'd get one to build and one for the vault!!!

Till this day I just can not fathom why LEGO decided to label that Hoth mess a UCS set, while the much more cohesive, attractive and display-worthy EV set was not labelled part of the Star Wars UCS series! In my personal and quite insignificant opinion EV has many times more rights to be considered part of the UCS series than AoH.

I couldn't agree more, I think had the 'UCS gold emblem' been on the front of the EV box it would have sold many more sets and be expected to do even better post retirement!!  The UCS AoH doesn't even include the Imperial probe droid minifig that the £20 Hoth Attack set includes, in my opinion such a iconic driod from the films, why leave these little touches out of a 'UCS' set!?!?! Maybe for the reason above, LEGO decided to make this a UCS to encourage sales, I guess they think that the collectors amongst us will purchase it for that reason regardless of how poor it may look ?!

Bought two ewoks and a SC today in Munich. 07S6 and 06S6 seals on them respectively

Will my VIP card get flagged if i buy like two boxes of each Hard to Find set in the store?

i plan to hit Vienna and Munich lego stores and do the same for each store

I have $253.00 in points from my amazon card that can be converted to cash.  I have been saving those points to convert to cash for the right reason.

There is double points at lego.com.

It's time to pull the trigger on this set. This is the last of the Green Yoda boxes in the wild and looking at what they did to Hoth they are hard pressed to make another Ewok Village like this in the future (if ever)

This will be my second and I am happy to have it.  I think it is unique and cool in regards to the series.  It goes in the vault.

For the same reason as SSD or R5 was not labeled. UCS label did not exist back then.

Yes but Gold 'label' aside, brickset doesn't officially class this set as an UCS, whereas I think most would agree it's worthy of that title in comparison to some other sets, old and new.

Brickset is not official. Tagging is arbitrary and subjective.

Very true. Is there any official way to clarify if its a USC set or not? Lego doesn't state that it is, nor does it have the gold crest seal on the front of the box like the SC, (and as you stated earlier this wasn't around when the box was designed).  Its doesn't include the plaque like R5 or Slave1 for example, but neither does the SC?! All Very confusing !! I appreciate it doesn't really matter either way, but I'd be interested to know what peoples views are on it? I guess many people had the same discussion regards the DS? Some people say its because they are classed as 'playsets' but then what is AoH ?!

We had that discussion in another thread and @Deadfraggle came up with a spreadsheet he made with all the info on the UCS sets:

I'd say that spreadsheet is pretty official !! HAHA Nice work ! A beautiful set either way, in my opinion. Going back to the original question of why Lego made AoH a UCS and not EV . . . I guess we'll never know !!! ;o)

Still . . . Cloud City done ok with out the UCS badge !!! ;o)

Just a wild guess, but I think Disney wants to slap a shiny badge on any $200+ star wars set. We don't have enough data for now but I'm willing to bet that all the larger Star Wars sets will now consistently bear the UCS seal.

Yep I think you are absolutely right, I think I mentioned it earlier, that badge will help them sale more of them to the collectors amongst us !!! Unfortunately Its all about the money at Disney !!

EV came out before SC.... With the Sand Crawler LEGO made an unofficial/official statement that from now on they'd be slapping that big stupid gold seal on UCS sets to alleviate any concern LEGO fans might have on whether a set was UCS or not. So ... SC, S1, Tie are officially UCS sets. Prior to that, well, you're going to have to use your judgement for sets such as EV and R5.

Interesting . . . At least Lego supplied the 'data sheet plaque' with the likes of R5. I wish they had done the same with the SC, just to add that finishing touch when on display. It surprises me that they didn't as the instruction manual includes all of the info regards the legacy behind the vehicle which you also find within the instructions of S1 etc.
