Deeker Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I actually just bought one to build and thought it was extremely fun in doing so. But the kids think it is an awesome set and are fighting over whose room it can stay in for display. My youngest has already had it invaded by the ninjas. There must be 25 ninjago guys all over it. It is very amusing to me, but very fun for them. I will be picking up more of these as I think this set for many fathers like me has hit a nostalgic nerve. The more of these UCS sets and Advanced models that come out the more I want all of them (-Ferrari). These will be winners for sure. 4 Quote

exciter1 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 so now is good time to buy this set?If you like retired sets, yes, this might be a sign. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If you like retired sets, yes, this might be a sign.I got a "or do you like cars with many many miles on them" vibe off that statement. 2 Quote

Deadfraggle Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 So, what's everyone's take on Ewoks? #1 They have fur #2 They are really cute and cuddly looking but apparently have a strong dislike of imperial storm troopers. #3 Ewoks are fond of BBQ, but instead of Kailua Pig they like to roast Wookies. Hayttees Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Ok just back from glasgow. Only two left on display. Have one. Lego man told me that they have last two but more are on the way. Quote
Val-E Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Took my eye of the ball and have just seen it is down to less than 50 at SAH EU when there has been plenty of time to restock. This set could very well be the first exclusive to retire this season. Quote

This set could very well be the first exclusive to retire this season. That indeed will be interesting to watch. With the end of the year slowly approaching some set will disappear, interesting which ones will leave the party first. Logic is that EV will leave the stage before SC, but I have a funny feeling that SC will be a short production run and may quit for good any time now. 1 Quote
Val-E Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 75098 release pictures are apparently coming later this week. Launch could be 15th Oct or 1st Nov so an EV retirement now would be a seamless transition.I guess it will all become much clearer on Thursday. Quote
hannibal Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 And what is the 75098 supposed to be? Quote
TigerG Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 75098 is supposed to be new Hoth Echo Base... Quote
HandyHand Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 And what is the 75098 supposed to be?As far as I can find, 75098 should be the Hoth Echo-Base. Quote

mudcatsfan Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) Hmm. I wonder if the death star will finally be retired at the end of the year if this is the case of the ewok village possibly being its replacement. New sets don't always push out old sets. We've made this assumption before and been dead wrong. (like in this very thread 2 years ago) Edited September 28, 2015 by mudcatsfan Quote
ISO8T0 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I find it hard to believe that lego would retire any large SW set this year with E7 amping up all SW hype. Quote
Guest Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think the biggest clue is the message at LEGO Shop at Home that says they will have more in Jan. Quote
marcandre Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I find it hard to believe that lego would retire any large SW set this year with E7 amping up all SW hype.Yup. They would never retire the Haunted House right before Halloween either. And no way they retire Town hall before Pet Shop. 3 Quote
Guest Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Who thought Lego cared at all about HH and Halloween? I don't get that. Is Halloween really a big $200 Lego set selling holiday? When did TH and HH have a message that said more would be back in a few months? Quote
waddamon Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Just to clarify, it does not say more will be back in a few months. It says to check back in January for availability. That checking back may be sorry sold out, no way to tell. Quote
redcell Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I find it hard to believe that lego would retire any large SW set this year with E7 amping up all SW hype.Really? It would seem pretty logical from a business perspective to retire some of the older and larger sets, and replace them with newer and larger sets that are actually based on the new movie. It's not like kids are going to walk away from Force Awakens begging their parents to get them a set that is based on an entirely different movie or adults are going to walk away thinking "Gosh, those First Order badguys are really bada**, I really need to go pick up Ewok Village." 2 Quote

There's a Hoth scene in TFA? Quote
Val-E Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 This speculation is purely for Europe - I think we now have to start disconnecting the zones as severa sets do not retire simultaneously worldwide.EV will sell out by the end of the month so we will know what status it has in 2 days and Hoth should be annnounced on Thursday.
