emes Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I came upon a cache of these in February at a TRU. They're all gone now, but not one sold for less than 100% profit. I would grab all of them that you see. Quote
chinothegeeko Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 You're easily doubling your money on these if you flip them right off the bat. Remember, you also have 90 days to return them as long as you hang onto the receipt. i typically act when I come across a deal like this and grab everything, then perform the calculations at home and decide whether or not to return the purchase for a refund later. I'm not surprised to learn it was TRU. They sometimes have inventory issues where long since discontinued items suddenly show up regionally, probably due to several factory cases being discovered in a central distribution warehouse. Chin: Monster Fighters is a Spring only item on the Lego master order sheet for 2013, which means the line is discontinued in June. Walmart has already begun to clearance them out and the other major retailers will likely soon follow suite. I only pass on the information I have at hand, you make your own determinations as to its validity. That said, ignore me and the other large/well informed investors on this site at your peril. Thank you ! Quote
cambridge02138 Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 On another note ... Has the MF Halloween Accessories (850487) reached EOL? I just came across a couple of sets for $18 yesterday. Quote

eracine Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 With monster fighters going away and the popularity of the zombie mini-figure how much do you thing the 30200 poly bag will fetch next Halloween? Quote
chinothegeeko Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I see a max of $15-20 The other one 40076 sells much better but hopefully that's just for now. Quote
Darth Lego Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Hopefully 20-25!! I agree. Zombies are in high demand and this set is one of cheapest ways to get a zombie. Quote
jeremykzoo Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 For what it's worth, there are none at the Kalamazoo TRU store.... Quote
jaisonline Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 It's still available from Shop-at-Home, so not retired yet. Great little set. Quote
ninjasnake1337 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I've seen a lot of these going on eBay lately - what's people's opinions now? Quote
exciter1 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I've seen a lot of these going on eBay lately - what's people's opinions now? I had several listed at $14.99 and have only sold one in 6 months. Quote
ninjasnake1337 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 But by next Halloween? I wouldn't expect demand to be particularly high for them at the moment, and I've seen them going cheap, so wondered if they are worth a punt Quote

The demand seems kind of low right now. Quote
Deez_Brickz Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Why do people think there will be an increased demand for Monster Fighter sets during Halloween? Does Halloween really have an impact on retail toy sales? When I think Halloween I think cheap decorations, candy, and costumes, not plastic building toys. 1 Quote

Why release Monster Fighters for Halloween, or winter themed sets at Christmas? I guess they should just sell them all year round instead. Quote

ppsagehen Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Yes. I expect MF will go up at halloween. My kids definitely became much more interested in them around halloween; parents scramble to get zombies etc for their kids. I think that things that complement the HH will do well, am assuming it will stick around until then at least. Quote

Plus the figure from 30200 is the same as one from 9465 Quote
Jimking23 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Do you think putting "Halloween" in your listing title may help it be seen by people not intending to be looking for legos. Quote
