Alcarin
The only thing I really like in this set is the statue!
Quacs
I remember when the first pictures of this showed up and it was doubled up, so there were 2 pizza places and 2 bike shops, it looked great. They also had a very nice gas station included with it. Unfortunately, the service station didn't end up happening, it looked really good and would be great for those that have Lego towns in their basement. This set should do well, as the other like sets have done well i.e. City Corner. Speaking of, isn't it time Lego released another gas/service station? I know there aren't too many combo gas/service stations any more, but perhaps they could put in a convenience store instead?

I'lll try to find the picture, it was a really cool station, and should definitely be a set, but to answer your question, yes, we need another service station. Huskers1236
Here's pictures from a Toy Fair in February. You can see how they put 2 sets together, and then added the awesome gas station, which ended up not being part of the set. Let's hope it comes out later.

Quacs
Really a slick set up, and it goes really well with the modular-ish scale buildings behind this.
Huskers1236
I would have preferred they included the service station instead of the crane. Seriously, how many mobile cranes does a city need? Everybody needs gas!

TheOrcKing
I knew that comment would devolve the conversation quickly. To bring back some 'class' to the topic, when was the last time Lego released a fuel station? We have a Tanker Truck this year but no place for him to drive the petrol to. I think they dropped the ball on that one.
Guest ph4tb0i
Just came back from the Lego today at somerset collection in troy michigan and they now have town square. Going for 119.99usd
MartinP
I think that $119.99 USD is too much for that set. It doesn't even have 1,000 pieces.

Spartikis
other than the statue i feel like its a bad investment. Just to modern, doesnt fit with the modular series, thats for sure.

The other sets along this same m.o. have done very well. Sets like 7641 City Corner, 7642 City Garage, and 8404 Public Transport all have done well, and have similar characteristics as City Square. I hope to find some on sale at some point, I will grab a couple of these for sure.
CNH1974
Comparing the CAGR of those three sets you mentioned they all seem to do well in the USA. Only 8404 has a 10+% CAGR in the UK.

This may mean that this set will do well in the secondary market hopefully.

jkris53406
I just built this set with my sons the other day. I must Say this was the most enjoyable set that I have put together. Having different segments made it feel like you are going faster. It didn't feel as tedious as some of the modulars feel and really looks awesome when it's completed.
