Guest TabbyBoy Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Was it an order submitted previously? The LEGO Shop at Home links are still ghosted. Yes but, it won't stop me checking LEGO Shop at Home every 1-2 nanoseconds! ;-) Honestly, I think all 20,000 will be gone once they process the backorders. Quote
Ed Mack Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 @ Darin...Nice collection. Be careful stacking boxes that way, the bottom ones will crush and bow out. 1 Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Darin... Me too, I was only kidding earlier. Impressive stash and you have nearly as many 10220s as I do! As per Ed's message, I'd put them in outer bags/boxes AND on shelves if I were you. Quote
Rich B Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 Darin, very nice collection!!! You have some great picks there Quote
Alcarin Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Hi everyone, thx for all of your opinions. Just wanted to share some pics. Enjoy! =) I bet thats something LEGO fights against lol Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Why are you still holding some of those sets? Are you a set hoarder? Planning to sell soon? Quote
Ed Mack Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Why are you still holding some of those sets? Are you a set hoarder? Planning to sell soon? I think most of the sets he has are not ready to be sold. Maybe in a year. Quote
justafrog Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Very nice, but agree with others that you need to further break up your stacks - Lego seem so innocently light, but they do need intermediate support between every few to half-dozen boxes, over time. Quote

Yeah I looked up a few of them - I thought that the Flagship was a 2008 set, but it was 2010. I would have maybe gotten rid of some of the HP sets already though. All of them besides Diagon Alley and Hogwarts anyway. Quote
Diabolos80 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 @Darin Daaaaaamn. I'm pretty jealous right now. You gonna hook us up on Brick Classifieds when you're ready to sell? Put me down for a DA :) Quote
matt1147 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 And now we all know how small-time we really are. Lol Quote
darin Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I'm glad everyone enjoyed the pics. Thx for the warning on the crushed boxes on the bottom, most of the pics were taking before I boxed everything up, so they weren't stacked for too long, as I'm pretty picky about my boxes as well. I own a donut shop that's over 3,000 s.f., and I only need about half of that s.f. for my business, so I a have couple storage rooms that I can use for legos...probably enough to hold about 500k in legos, so I don't have to worry about space. =) Plus, my shop is open 24 hrs, so there's always someone guarding my legos. lol I started investing about 2 yrs ago, and i'm up to about 75k, on my last count. That's with roughly 25-30k cash invested, a lot of work flipping sets, and a little help from my buddy Chris Weidman. lol My plan is to get to 250k in 2-3 yrs, then cash out half of it, to put down on a house, and rebuild my stash. Here's couple pics of some boxed up legos, and those darn FB's! (my first investment) =( I'm sure everyone struck out with those. Btw, I wanted to thank Ed, and Jeff for creating this site! It's awesome, and one of the best ideas ever! And also, thx to everyone for being so nice in here. I think this is a much nicer crowd than brickset. I don't really like to post much...just do a lot of reading, and all the info on this site is GREAT! Thx again 1 Quote
Anakinisvader Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I'm calling the show "collection intervention". You must be forced to sell........ Quote
justafrog Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Darin, thanks for sharing the awesome pics - sounds like a great business plan, too. I hope you'll contribute lots to the discussions, nice to have more guys who are walking the walk on the site! Quote
Sauromosis Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I don't think you can write off the FB until after retirement. Very impressive pictures and layout of your business. Should we all also get into the donut business? Quote
Sauromosis Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Or you can hook up with the Macks...the customer can get an oil change, have a donut, and buy some legos. "Have an A1 day!" 1 Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Pics or never happ... oh wait... Darin, impressive stash. Let me ask the one logical question: Have you been blacklisted by TLG ? Quote
asharerin Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Thanks for the pics mate! I am starting to feel a bit jaded after doing this for 5 years but those pics are very inspirational. Need to get my house in order for 2014. Quote
boliramirez Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 That's my buddy !!! If I was impressed with the pics you sent me , now that I saw your combis and crawlers collection, I am even more amazed !!! Thanks for sharing.... Quote

Or you can hook up with the Macks...the customer can get an oil change, have a donut, and buy some legos. "Have an A1 day!" LOL...The one fringe benefit to owning a brick and mortar business is to sometimes have some extra space to store LEGO sets. 2 Quote
