comicblast Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 If I'm not pushing the envelope, how many BrickPoints did this review get? Great job with all the pictures! They really help get your points across. Quote
Guest idunno101 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Thanks for the comments guys means a lot! If I'm not pushing the envelope, how many BrickPoints did this review get? Got 1,000 brickpoints, I was actually surprised by that number. Quote
Ed Mack Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 This review and the reviews done by The Darkness are excellent and they have been awarded with 500+ Brickpoints for each one. Quote
Raykong Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Picked up three of the Limited edition crawlers on a trip to Hawaii. Packed them well in boxes and sent them on the plane. When I opened the boxes on the other end, be had the seals cut open....there was a notice from TSA on the inside of the box. I didn't check, may e they took my limited edition license plate! Quote

I am just sitting here thinking about that amazing south park episode on the TSA. Why is it that every association that ends in "sa" is just ridiculous, Quote
MartinP Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 That is very strange. I do not know why they would open some that. Quote

willy431 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The wires, remote control, and the motor was plenty I am sure. I also had a small lift pump opened and searched when I flew on business a few months ago, and the notice was taped to the box. I wasn't surprised---anything electro-mechanical is suspect. I also next day ship my tools to customer sites, If I need to travel for tech issues. The DVM, buttons, switches, wiring, timers, display boards----lot of stuff they would need to look at--even as checked baggage--so i don't bother anymore. My tech suitcase arrived after me twice---with the searched notice---so now I just ship it fed-ex. Quote

Yeah you are right, this should have been obvious. I always forget about the remote control. I would have just tried to carry them on the plane - they never get checked that way. I carried on a giant Industrial Networking switch one time on a business trip and no one said a word. Lol Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Security at all airports is being ramped because of the situation with Syria. I doubt they would have messed with it otherwise but who knows. Quote
sadowsk1 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I find it comforting that nothing is above suspicion. That's what their job is. Quote

Anyone else getting alot fo buyers from Austrailia? My 4 went to someone in the UK. In looking at the auctions I have a feeling most of these are selling to international buyers. Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 seems like the price is now down to around 300 for sold auctions. Quote
akohns Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I'm thinking of picking one up if they have any at the two lego stores I will be at in the next week. Worth it for an immediate flip? I'm perfectly comfortable offering international priority express shipping so that helps. Quote
MartinP Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I am starting to think that Lego has sent this set out in at least two different waves. The first one was on August 1st. The second was toward the end of August. If stores are saying that there are going to get more of these sets, this may be the third wave. But if that happens, the prices for the set may go down. Guest idunno101 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 My best guess is that this is a scam. The fact that both of them have 0 feedback and have no actual pictures of the set raises flags for me. Quote
brickolodon Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 how come if you easy open the case and get money back (buyers protection program)...??? Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 how come if you easy open the case and get money back (buyers protection program)...??? A bunch of different reasons unfortunately. Number 1, a lot of these will have Ebay redirect you to a third party site to check out. It is fake and they manage to steal payment information from you because the connection to Paypal is not secure. They also get valid names and addresses from you which is enough to get a lot of information. Some manage to just duck paypal in different ways and paypal just pays the bill. Just stay clear of them - you want no part. 1 Quote
