stephen_rockefeller Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I translated this into a language we could all understand: TLG: "Resellers can go !@#& themselves"exactly! Quote
brickolodon Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Or... TLG: "We would like to thank the 20,000 buyers who purchased our LIMITED EDITION 41999. Unfortunately, we will only be making 20,000 of them. But we would like to remind everyone that we have a 9398 Crawler that is still being sold. It is the exact same thing, but isn't LIMITED EDITION." that means time to invest in 9398 too??? Quote
brickolodon Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Anyhow, as i know 1st edition always the winner..even with diff. Color will be second 4x4 limited edition crawler. Quote
spener90 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Or why not make another 20,000 in a different color? That's what I would do if I were LEGO. Release them just in time for Black Friday. Maybe even a Green one and a Red one. That would be another 40,000. Now I could see this happening, and that wouldn't bother me either. Quote
brickolodon Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Good vs evil.....TLG vs resellers..no winners. Quote
mmatthie Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I didn't get ANY, but not for lack of trying. If they come around again I will, if not, oh well. Same here Josh...I was at a Lego store on the 1st...two were in front of me...left them there. In hindsight it would've been nice to flip them for double+ just 2 weeks later...but I'm not sweatin' it too hard. Quote
StarPod Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Now I could see this happening, and that wouldn't bother me either.if anything that could strengthen this set as a collector would want all the colors. Especially if they keep the box design and change the color Quote
lowillsw Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 he bought 5 from me for a grand total of.... $2302.88 It seems far fetch, maybe he obtain a 2015 Lego Price Almanac inside the BTTF set. 3 Quote
metsrock507 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 update: the last 4 sets sold on ebay have gone for $500!!!! Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 update: the last 4 sets sold on ebay have gone for $500!!!! Wonderful. When will the growth stop? They have been out for half a month almost and seen 150% growth. Wanna know what the CAGR for that is? 3600% CAGR! If it keeps this up, it will be worth $12,093,235,200 in August of 2018!!! 3 Quote

But I do not think that it will reach that price by August 2018. Quote
exciter1 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Just received a shipping notification for my replacement set from Lego S@H. Also, I've seen several reports folks have received shipping notifications from Toys R Us, but mine are still backordered. Quote

boomzoom Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I joined in the fun and ordered one. My box looks quite bad because of the hotdog cart. I contacted Lego. I did not make up any story. I simply said it is a limited edition and the box was damaged because of the hotdog cart. They offered me either 20% off or a replacement. But reminded me the set is on back order. Weird, Lego S&**** just said they'd expedite a replacement to me for mine that was punctured. I'm not shipping it back until I receive the replacement. If they really sent you a replacement, will you ship back the original? or let them charge you an extra $199 and keep the damaged set because it is now hard to find? I am not sure how Lego does exchange. But with amazon, there is a time window, the original order has to be shipped back or amazon will charge you for the price. Quote
MartinP Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Yes, it will reach it by the end of the year... Great some people might me millionaires because of Lego sets. I'm sure that would be in the news. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Most of the time you have to send the damaged set back and after they receive it they will send you another one. In special cases they will mail a replacement out before they get the damaged one, in which case you have 30 days to return it before your card is charged. Quote

I would keep both and let the my card be charged. I would keep the damaged one to build and the other one to resell. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Every time I look at this thread title I think: "There's a snake in my boot!" This is my life. 1 Quote
M4x18 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Can you imagine Lego having us in a black list and going "Is he a Brickpicker? Take that, Hot Dog Stand tightly packed with your b-e-a-utiful 41999!" Quote
nolanfan34 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 A story in the news is all this needs to take off even further. Should be close to the "hot Christmas toys" stories coming on the news soon, how do we make sure this gets mentioned? Ed, Jeff, give USA Today a call! Quote
brickolodon Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 .....or Mr. Bezos from Washington Post...lol Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Back on S@H but says sold out. Quote
MartinP Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Back on LEGO Shop at Home but says sold out. I just saw this. I wonder why they would put it back online when the probably have sold all or almost 20,000 sets. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I just saw this. I wonder why they would put it back online when the probably have sold all or almost 20,000 sets. The woman told me today they hadn't - but they were all going straight to stores. By the way - they reserved one for me there when they come in since I didn't get my order before. Quote
Miami Bomb Squad Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 This set may just top the Falcon in a few years. They're not going to make more of this set, period. They're now looking to make another "limted edition" of something else. However, the next "limited edition" may be 50,000. 1 Quote
