govtcheeze
Using some big round numbers to make it easier to follow. Win auction for 1000 for 100lbs of advertised lego. Package is actually 75lb of lego and the remaining weight is metal, mega, etc. Things in pictures are missing and in their place (assumption) are similar but cheaper items. A novice wouldnt catch it but an expert bulk buyer would. 50/50 if this was an uninformed seller or a scam attempt on a noob buyer. Next highest bidder would have won auction at 750. What was actually received is worth about 1250. Lots of work and a few hundred more to make things sellable. So what do you do? Return to seller and bad feedback? Or keep and work out a deal, and what kind of deal do you ask for and why? I am currently in talks with seller and want to see which one of us is being unreasonable as we are miles apart. I know I can send this back due to not as described policy so I am in the driver seat but I figure the next buyer will demand a refund too, so why not just give it to me and save some shipping? sadowsk1
If you like the Lego portion of the auction keep that and ask for the non Lego fill portion cost be refunded to you. If the auction was advertised by weight I would separate the Lego from non and base my percentage refund request off of that.
gregpj
I'd tell him to either: - refund $250 and you'll ship the other 25lbs of crap back to him. - refund $200 and call it even (maybe settle for $150 back if seller pushes) - otherwise return it all and ask for a full refund $250 profit seems too small for the effort. Grolim
I would ask for the price to reflect the $10 per lb you intended at purchase. So a $250 refund seems fair.
