i tried out Bricksie for a few videos, but he really annoys me for some reason.  I know his story and how he started, but he just seems like a spoiled little brat.  just bugs me lol

Actually...

I'm conflicted occasionally his content intrigues me (building alternate build, his city ideas or various things such as the link I shared about investing) BUT...

Scale of 1-10. 10 being the most annoying or arrogant.

7 Bricksie

10 BricQFoundations & MandRproductions

Just my opinion and I know others like MandR

I think danibob is underrated. I like that she is grounded and doesnt have the sugary exuberance of some other channels  (I totally get that they do it to get clicks but the enthusiasm is just fake to me, are they really that excited)

😄😄

I thought this was funny when you posted but wasn't familiar with danibob. Did stumble onto one of her videos recently and agree. I haven't checked out her channel to see what it primarily consists of but so far she isn't annoying like others and I'll check out more videos.

Thanks for recommending

Ugh, this guy strikes again. Anyone know where you can get ST BHZ at 20-30% off in the USA?

It's a Lego exclusive, so nowhere. Unless you count VIP points and GWP as a discount.

Also love his ROI computations: buy price pre-tax to amazon selling price. Ignoring fees and taxes 🤦‍♂️

He definitely counts GWP sales returns as part of the discounts he says he can get on sets. He has said so specifically when talking about how to get discounts on things like modulars. His claims of getting those discounts are counting money from sold GWPs, credit card cashback, VIP points, and all other forms of potential cashback(Honey, etc.) stacked together.

Though that Stranger Things BH set being Lego exclusive means you can't buy them in bulk(limit 2 on SAH), and being that they are $20 ea. $40 is hardly netting you a particularly great GWP.

I mean if you could buy unlimited amounts and you bought say 8 of them for $160 and that qualified you for a good reselling GWP like Forestmen's Hideout($150 buy-in) that you sold for $40 after shipping and fees. That would be a 25% discount that you had to work for, then 5% VIP discount, maybe 3% from a good credit card cashback program. Still that's only in a world where you could actually buy in bulk which isn't real, which means you have to be buying other sets from SAH to hit a good GWP threshold, and anytime you are purchasing from SAH you have opportunity cost with regard to savings unless they are exclusives.

I wouldn’t analyze anything this guy says.

I would extend that to pretty much all of the content creators focused on Lego “investing.” I’ve watched a number of those videos and they mostly strike me as uninformed crap, regurgitated crap, or veiled marketing pieces for the creator’s paid content. At best, there are a few nuggets of good info buried in all the surrounding noise. My favorite was one made by a guy touting the lessons learned from two months of investing in Lego.

Ha, The lesson learned after two months should be STOP NOW while you can still see the top of your Lego stacks :)

I'd be surprised if he is still doing this 12 months from now.  He has a short attention span, no grit, and I can lo longer find the online course that he was selling that took well over a year to develop.  I told him that if we did a course it will fail but he doesn't want to listen to anyone.  This was just the first of many e-commerce ventures he wanted to start.  I'll be very surprised if he doesn't start another YT channel regarding general e-commerce next year.

LOL!  For the record, I purposely gave the crazed thumbnail as a private joke.  I have a personal rule of never having a gaping mouth or using the word 'insane' in a thumbnail or title.

This guy Solbricks cracks me up. He’s definitely not for everyone, but he’s authentic. I love how he drops the boxes and actually shows parts of the set being broken or the whole damn thing falling off the table by accident during his reviews

He highlights the unflattering, yet endearing aspects of LEGO. He gets it: LEGO is a problem, but it’s our problem because we love it so much.

I thought this video was interesting.  I have been wondering when the reality of the ever increasing competition in the LEGO secondary market was going to start being felt to the point of generating this kind of commentary.

He thought this was bad.  Wait till everyone in his Patreon dumps their inventory to Amazon

The irony of his complaint is too rich. Is he that oblivious..
You could just ask him... he has been a long time member here, but he doesn't post too often anymore.

Theoretically, it could be the ultimate "zig zag" as well. Tell everyone on your Patreon and YouTube channel to buy one set while you yourself load up on completely different sets. I mean he was super high on the Olaf set after all.
