I was a cartographer too, until my job series was changed to an aeronautical information specialist.

Sweet!

Sadly, I retired from map making years ago. “Rose” to Management, then got pushed aside. Now I’m in my second career as an IT/Web/SharePoint guy. But funny enough I’m still on a Geographer Series PD.

This set is so bad. Actually all the Lego “Art” series are terrible. Google “bead art” to understand how poor of a value these are.

When I first saw those kinds LEGO art at Ripley's many years ago, my thoughts was "this look cool, but I would not want to be the one putting it together"

This hurts my eyes.

From this angle, that looks like a map from 1 of those old PC games with world maps.  It reminded me of how cool it was to see the map in color on VGA monitor (16 colors baby!!) :D

Earlier when I read this on my phone I was like, woah, eurocentric much? But now I'm looking at it on my laptop and holy cow this image just straight up hurts my eyes!
I was noticing the same thing. The area I live in (east coast US) is pretty much split right on the border. I wonder if the map is evenly split on the edges so that you could put the American continents in the center if you choose to.

Not that I am going to buy it though, just more of a curiosity.

China/India is right smack in the Center.

Page 139 of the instructions shows that you can put it together in three different ways to make a Euro/Africa, Asia or America centric map.

I thought this was obvious by the pictures on the front of the box.  The 2 smaller maps on the lower left are America centric and Asia centric, while the huge one is Euro centric.  Also it says 1 picture, 3 combinations
