supraboy888 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 yea 12 seems like overkill. Gotta keep some funds aside for the post christmas clearance too! Saving up $2000USD to buy a bunch of Chi Temples. Those are by far the hottest flips. Cragger's command ship is second in line. The Tower Bridge and Tower of Orthanc are also hot. Quote

studio4202 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360816494387 just passed the 300 mark...this is ridiculous Quote

lowillsw Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 On top of how many other auctions that ended. One person bought less than 4? Where is that bubble thread ... LOLz didn't even noticed until you mentioned it. Brickpicker effect? No one knows about this set unless they are into Lego or Hobbits. It doesn't come to my mind of 1 TRU exclusive that performed well. For 20 bucks a piece, I can't help it, even though I have virtually no hope for this theme. Quote
studio4202 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I don't know if I'm trippin but the number of "sold per hour" seems to be decreasing http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360816494387 Quote
legoman12323123 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 something weird going on here .. TRU is shady Quote
legoman12323123 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I love how nobody bought less than 4 at a time .. this set is going to take awhile to recover Quote
tonysbricks Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 That's the number sold in the last hour. Quote
akohns Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 At $20 a pop these are great for parts sellers even if investors won't see recovery for a while. BTW, I just got 4 more. Heck why not? Quote
studio4202 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 lol anyone up to 16 like me? daum I have a feeling this is getting really over-saturated. Then again it's a hobbit set so you never know. Quote
Bernard74 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Indeed, but we have to deal with that ~20% markup on everything. It's not the only $39.99 USD set that is is 50 bucks. But seriously, though, we Canadians should stop complaining, I hear some Eastern European countries are way worse Glad you feel our pain. This set is Quote
tonysbricks Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Went through the previous auctions, sold over 1000 tonight and still going strong. Quote

legoman12323123 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 my guess is EOL .. why would you dump hundreds/thousands and than put it back to marked up msrp tru price? Makes no sense Quote

Makes no sense To clear shelf space in their warehouse. If their inventory plan showed a drop for this set in FY2104, and they hadn't sold the number they expected in FY 2013, they need to move product fast. The best way to do this is lower prices to move stock. This sale doesn't mean this set will be EOL, it just means it hasn't sold as expected and TRU wants to get rid of some. That said, it may EOL, and now's a great time to stock up on this set. Quote
Spartikis Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I dont care if this set sold poorly or not, at $25 for a TRU exclusive item im not going to pass it up. I wish i could have bought orc forges at $25 a piece. Also i would assume it is retiring soon given over half of the sets in the first series of the hobbit sets are retired and the rest are on back order combined with the newest sets being released, i cant imagine it will be around to much longer. Quote
yodadoc1234 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I'm kinda on the fence. Should I order 4 of these. I'm only interested if I can get a few boxes undamaged from TOys R us. Is that likely? Quote

I think the only one sticking around will be "An Unexpected Gathering", at least that is what I expect. Quote

LEGO Shop at Home is showing that this set is backordered with a ship date in early January. That typically means that it's not going EOL this year. Quote
