What the heck are these not-quite-Lego pins from?

I found a handful of these little grey pins in a bulk bin I'm sorting through. I only found this one black piece they connect to and it's marked 45 (as it's a 45 degree angle)

I mean, they are garbage to me, but I'm so curious.

Finally found a piece with a logo stamped on it. They are VEX Robotics parts.
