plasticbrix Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 As the title says, what new theme or licensed products would you like to see be released as LEGO sets? I would like to see a 'Military' theme based on vehicles, planes and weapons from around the world. I am always so impressed with the various MOCs I see based on that idea that I would enjoy mass produced sets coming to the market. Quote
schmidtywerben Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I would LOVE a whole new theme specifically designated to planes and such. I'd love to see a military plane theme, but I'd be happy with just about any kind :) Quote
BigEZ96 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 LEGO based on the the Epic Nintendo game Zelda would be awesome. It's up for future review over at LEGO CUUSOO. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Quote
TedZeppelin Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'd personally love to see some Lego Fallout sets. Now that'd be cool! Quote

They have said that many times so as much as I would like one too they aren't going to do it. For now you will just have to settle for the occasional military set release like the Sopwith Camel. My dream theme would be a ancient history theme with the Greeks, Romans, Persians, ETC. Quote
BigEZ96 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'd love to see your idea of an Ancient Civilization theme replace what's left of the Kingdoms theme. It would be great to see sets based on actual places and events, complete with minifigs based on historical figures. Quote

It had sets that were located around the world from ancient Egypt to the Orient to the Amazon Jungle. I like your idea. Maybe a Mayan Temple would make an awesome set. As for the military theme...I agree. LEGO will not get involved with 'war' machines. Too bad though, I would love to see some tanks and jets. Quote
Ed Mack Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I would like to see Star Trek get on board the LEGO license train. I would love to see the Klingon "Bird of Prey" become an Ultimate Collector's Series set, along with the Enterprise and a bust of Spock, similar to the UCS Darth Maul. Quote
schmidtywerben Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I don't think it would have quite the same kick to it as Star Wars, but I could see it doing very well, especially in Collector's eyes. Quote
stackables Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I have always wanted a Greek Mythology theme. With cool monsters and ancient weapons. Quote
starwarsfan0917 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 A sub-theme of Star Wars knights of the old republic for star wars would be cool Quote

schmidtywerben Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I've wondered whether LEGO would even consider taking on a Hunger Games theme. With such a strong popularity, almost equivalent to Harry Potter, I think there would be some potential to it, but I really doubt it would happen. As for sets, I have no idea what could be made, but I'm sure there are possibilities. Any thoughts? Or am I WAY out on a limb on this one... Quote

Then again, I haven't been to the movies since my son was born almost 3 years ago. Kids put a damper on LEGO collecting and movie watching. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I can't imagine TLG even thinking about doing The Hunger Games line. I think it's a good movie, but there's no way they are going to make a line about a movie that features their core market killing each other! Quote

I do like the Greek Mythology idea that Stackables mentioned above. I just don't think kids today are too familiar with all the Greek Gods and Monsters like I was when I was a kid. I could be wrong. I always thought that a Technic "Skeleton" theme would be awesome. You could have various dinosaur and animal skeletons made up with off-white Technic pieces. It would be for the advanced builder and have little plaques next to the finished product, like the UCS sets. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 That sounds like a pretty nice idea, Ed. I think it would be great beyond just dinosaurs too, with maybe skinless ships, submarines, planes and buildings under construction. Quote
Kenxxx Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Was watching TV last night and this hit me... I looked it up online just now, and see that it has occurred to others already... 1 Quote
