$20 on joe vs dan Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 was Mountain Cave a flop in the years it was available? (Obviously popular in aftermarket) Why has LEGO strayed away from large ($200+) Minecraft sets? Quote

Minecraft is not an adult/older kid theme and most expensive sets are purchased for the older demographic. If I remember correctly, Mountain Cave & Village were not big movers. Since they were not big movers the sets were not produced in great quantities and did not have a long run. So you have a very popular theme with a limited supply of these sets in the after market making for high prices which would seem to imply their popularity at the time. College is ridiculously expensive. Quote
