Bricklink's AFOL Designer Program 2021

Recommended Posts

The lost city is beautifully done. I'm pretty sure I have most of those pieces available to moc a close enough version for what it is though. figured they would all get funded but that was fast. grabbed a stronghold/harbor/candy.  No extras for resale.  The NO Included instruction books is the biggest downside of this program. I printed instructions for the Loewenstein castle expansion and realize how spendy that can get.

Now I just hope the 10% Rak works on these.

I think it all depends on how Lego lists the sets (exclusive or not) and how quickly they notify Rakuten of the purchase. Pre-orders are tricky like that.

Stronghold nearly gone. I cracked and got one, damn fomo

The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. Never had any castle sets growing up (Pirates/Space/City/Racer) but this one is pretty appealing.

I am more surprised at how well the Art of Chocolate is doing. I would have thought it to potentially struggle, or be the lower of the 5. However, its hard to say if that or the Harbormaster's Office (HO) will reach sold out first between the two.

Art of Chocolate is the only set that I ordered.  To me, it is by far the most striking of the five sets.  I'm underwhelmed to a degree by the theoretical playability of the set, but in the end, that's not why I'm buying it.  I know it's not a castle set, but I think this will do well in the long run.  It's rather unique.

Looks like Camping will be the 2nd to sell out.  So, "Castle" and "cheap" win the race.

Shocked.

They priced Castle perfectly at the psychological sweet spot of $300 for a big set. I wish they'd return to that price point. Mountain Fortress felt overpriced by $79, and the same with Lion Knights—it felt $100 too high. You can throw in all the extras you want, but anything over $300 feels like too much for a LEGO set.
