Jbad87 Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 I went to a brick and mortar store yesterday and was only allowed to buy 1 copy of each large set. They were well stocked in everything minus Razor Crests or Winter sets. Quote

I've been doing this for 8 years, with a few lighter years in the middle. Obviously the supply issues are strong right now, but I can't say I have ever seen anything like this. Basically everything is sold out. I was bored and trying to put together some items to get a GWP, and couldn't figure out anything worth while. Amazing really. Quote

Almost comical. On the bright side, I don't expect there is any delay in filling orders... I'm noticing that, for example, Target might say they have 65 sets over $50 available to ship, but if you look at the results, 12 of those sets are not available to ship and maybe more if I were to look at each set individually. But, I'll stick with the raw numbers since digging into every set would take more time and I'm expecting that the general trend would still apply. Here is what LEGO still has in stock over $25: > $100: , The Flaming Foundry, Marvel Studios Iron Man New OOS: Rough Terrain Crane, Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, 6x6 Volvo Articulated Hauler $75 to $100: Hogwarts Astronomy Tower New OOS: Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control, Remote Controlled Stunt Racer $50 to $75: 4 Privet Drive, Monkie Kid's Cloud Roadster, Central Airport, Sandy's Speedboat New OOS: Monkie Kid's Cloud Jet, Adventures with Mario Starter Course $25 to $50 (started listing 12/13): Air Race, Wonder Woman vs. Cheetah, Action Battle Hoth Generator Attack New OOS: The Knight Bus, Lonesome Flats Raft Adventure 1 2 Quote
Brystheguy Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 This is my favorite thread right now. I love looking at these numbers for some reason. Thank you for doing this! Quote
TheBrickClique Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 I’m away from my computer today — I’ll try to post an update tonight. But I noticed that at the moment that LEGO SAH has far more sets in the Coming Soon status (~110) than Available (70 to 80) So, this makes me wonder, if they do not have the production in place to keep up with current holiday supply, how are they planning to hit the launch dates for over 100 new sets? It would have been a complete logistics snafu if they produced these sets months ago amid an expected holiday shortage. Maybe they appeased the retailers by taking the brunt of the inventory shortage so they could run the production of the new sets. It will be interesting to see what sets launch on their expected dates and how much stock they have available. I would wait to pick up anything that you want to buy to build — they might be TOOS for awhile once the initial wave sells. Quote
dbrouge Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 The January sets are probably in warehouse already. I understand not wanting to produce EOL products, but they lost sales with the lack of inventory. When I look at nearby Lego stores inventory for sets in my wanted list, they have more availability than online. I'm pretty sure they supply other retailers and physical stores before online shop (to prevent having empty shelves). Quote
Alpinemaps Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Ive got VIP vouchers i bought Black Friday that are going to expire in a couple of days. There is zero on the site i’m interested in right now. My hope is that supply will increase after tomorrow, since there the cut off for express shipping guarantee by Christmas. Quote

I had the same concern, I had to talk to LEGO CS about something else and mentioned this, they said the vouchers are really good 60 days, and even then if you call you can likely get them extended. I used my online ones early but I still have in-store ones to use 1 Quote

Some sets come and go for brief spells, but the die-hard turds keep hanging on. The three major retailers are inching back some stock but are still depressed from levels from the beginning of the month. Amazon seems to have gotten the biggest boost. 1 Quote
