Designed as a centrepiece to a bustling LEGO neighbourhood, the LEGO Police Station also comes complete with a doughnut shop brimming with sweet treats and a newspaper kiosk, as well as five minifigures including a 1940s-inspired police officer for ample storytelling possibilities.
keymomachine
My police Lego brother loves it. There are surprisingly few helicopters for a police station!

Anyone taking bets that they will re-release all the past sets in this new style box, as part of the "Collection" and bring them out of retirement? I believe certain pieces in some colors do get retired so not all sets can just easily be remade. Not %100 sure but that's my take. As for the police station I have friends and old family friends in law enforcement. I,( and Know they) really appreciate the nod their way from lego. Not amazed by the build but I'll take $70-$100 off from vip points and buy at release. Edited November 27, 2020 by Belac

On one hand, I appreciate the unique design and ability to blend with basically the entire line. Both a huge pro. On the other hand, I am uncertain about the need for a Police station. Also, the tri-building design with a center larger building and two narrow builds, appears to be built on a single base plate. I am interested to see the instructions/more pics. Curious if all three connect with a technic pin or are built together. IMHO if one single build, that would be a big miss. I think the larger middle building and the two slivers on the side will be a really nice variation to all the other buildings. All the other buildings are either a full base plate wide or half base plate wide. So to throw in some quarter base plate wide buildings will give a nice visual variation to the rest of the buildings when they are all shown together. But I agree that as a stand alone, the 1/4 wide buildings feel underwhelming.

brickvoyeur
Damn near everything I'm reading since the reveal has a ton of complaints about a police station being in poor taste. Even though the snowflakes are a very loud minority... could you imagine if Lego caved on this and retired this after one year? The resale on it would be amazing. TheOrcKing
This has more personality than any Police Station released for the evergreen City line. There is kind of an air of "Night Court" about it to me. The two slim side apartments make for some nice variation for the official modular street scene. If I am counting correctly, the donut shop is eight studs wide while the green building is six meaning the main structure should be eighteen. I can't quite tell how deep each are. I would guess both side structures are eight deep with the main around twelve.

Hate the black box. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/police-station-10278 Don't really have to think about it for 3-4 years. Time to start stocking AS.
MrSam
I'm intrigued that others are hesitant towards this. I'm a big fan! Will definitely purchase on day one (...of a decent sale 😂).
LegoMan1212
Dont care how it looks, just care how it sells. I think it is too small though. Not the whole set, just the police station. Police stations, IMO, are large and 2x the normal size of a building on the same block. So, I think people need to buy 2 of these to build a much larger one as their showcase of the city. Alpinemaps
Don’t like it. Didn’t like the Bookstore either. Corner Garage was okay. I guess it’s been awhile since I’ve really like one of these (Diner).
spener90
I like the set, but I do believe the modular sets are suffering from having actually competition now. 10 years ago this set would be one of the best, now we have competition (Diagon Alley, Haunted House, Pirate Bay, the list goes on for a mile). The reality is, the modular line is still excellent, and so is this set, it just doesn't appear to be all that unique anymore.
oneknightr
I think the two little mini-buildings flanking the station look good. I like how it blends nicely with the bookstore. Definitely intentional. Edited November 27, 2020 by oneknightr
elmaslıefendi
Definitely the worst modular yet. By far. Even the box looks awful! Why even retire Creator Expert? I guess Diner, AS, Garage & Bookstore will all be considered 'Last of the good ones' in a few years. What a disappointment.

Alpinemaps
do you just not like "regular looking" buildings? folks here seem critical of the new Modular but don't provide reasons...ofcourse you don't have to but just curiousGood point. For me, I don’t like the two buildings on the side. They are very smooshed together. And while it may look good with other modulars on either side, I also think the buildings should stand alone. You never know when this will be someone’s first modular. I generally don’t like multiple buildings on one plate. I’d rather see a single building expanded to the full size of the plate. That’s why I’m not a fan of the Bookshop or Pet Shop. I do like Assembly Square, but feel that was trying to celebrate the 10th anniversary, along with having a larger foot print. It’s also a little too generic looking to me, I think. Grand Emporium, Palace Cinema, Diner - they all are fairly unique. Maybe I’m getting spoiled seeing the great MOCs people come up, but I always feel like LEGO should be a cut above even the best MOCs out there. And this one just seems a little too MOC to me. Not that MOCs are bad, but LEGO’s should be a cut above.
redghostx
About the why don't you like recent modulars, etc.Recent modulars:The Corner Garage looks clunky to me. I don't like it and haven't bothered to buy it yet. I will soon, but I don't care for it at all.The Bookshop is pretty, but small. I kind of like it, but there's no wow to me.I like the main police station, but would like it a lot more without the little buildings. The side buildings don't belong, but I will reserve judgement until I see them adjacent other modulars. I really like the newspaper kiosk, but think it could have been in front like you see in tv shows.I own every modular, except for Market Street that I owned and sold twice. I display them every year around Christmas and I prefer the grandeur of the older buildings, even the blander facades of Fire Brigade and Town Hall fit well. I don't care as much for the interior because nobody is looking inside them often; it's not a toy. Parisian Restaurant and Green Grocer are my favourites and Pet Shop is my least favourite.Modulars are getting too focused on doing a lot of little things to make one big thing, instead of one great big thing and Detective's Office was a prime example of this for me. A small building with nice ideas that were condensed to fit the smaller scale. However, I still appreciate and like every effort in that set.

$20 on joe vs dan
Looks like the early QFLL winner is the Police Station modular at backorder 60 days (Mclaren also 60 days). Most of the other Backorders are end of Jan delivery. Last night/early this am; I had to make a decision. I initially didn't want to try QFLL this round so just did the double dip GWP thing w/ POtter sets. Went to bed...and had a nagging feeling that the modular would be popular during CV SIP and would likely sell out. So rebooted my comp and put in an order...I was waffling over the station or the Ferrari...only could pick one because my CCs were getting frozen from the early orders. anyhoo..I'm thinking it's an easy $250-$275 local flip with a 30 day window or so once it get it in hand.
