75319 - Resistance Transport - $29.99 - 302 pieces - August 1 Release

Looks like more salt needed. Crait didn't have enough.

The new "fake" list crusing the web:

75307 Advent Calendar $39.99
75308 UCS R2-DS $199.99
75309 UCS Republic Gunship $349.99
75310 Mandalore Throne & Vault $19.99
75311 Imperial Troop Transport $39.99
75312 Slave I $49.99
75313 UCS AT-AT $799.99
75314 Bad Batch Shuttle $99.99
75315 Moff Gideon's Light Cruiser $159.99
75316 Mandalorian Fighter $59.99

I find the first to be more realistic.. but both are worth about the same amount until we start to see pictures.

I could see swapping the ISD for the Light cruiser. I think a small Slave I is a crappy move right now since there is nothing to push it until December... but I can't even remember the V-19 in any S7 clone wars episodes so I don't think it's realistic.

I'll take a giant AT-AT over another Death Star... but with an AT-AT on the shelf I doubt it's the case.

this list is entirely reasonable

A downgraded Slave is perfectly consistent w/ the recent downgraded Xwing and Tie.

It's like LEGO is getting rid of the middle class of LEGO sets

I agree. 75021 Had almost 1200 pieces, so 500 more would not make much of a difference. I feel more confident in the $350 range.

How do you guys feel about 'downgraded' sets like the rumored Slave 1 and new x-wing, TIEs affecting the value of the retired larger sets (Slave 1 20th aniv, 75218 Xwing especially) Are they too different or will the low price point draw people away from the retired sets?

With the introduction of 18+ LEGO has enabled itself to no longer having to make sets that satisfy the demands from both adults and kids at the same time. So they can create elaborate "build and display" sets at higher price points for the 18+ audience (TFOL and AFOL target), and dumb down (not meant negatively) sets for the 6-9 age range, which is their key kids audience.

But there will be people who don't want to pay big bucks for large elaborate sets (think $300+), but who want more details than the kids versions provide. Which is where the old sets will shine.

No need to over think.  Lego made a smart decision going forward with “lowering” prices for these sets. They’re competing with digital devices where apps and games only cost a few dollars a piece and keep kids entertained longer.

there was always going to be remakes of these popular ships; that was a given

being downscaled helps re-sell of the bigger ones

I agree but kids tend to build sets, play for them a bit and then they wind up collecting dust. I hate to say it but my kids get more “value” out of a $60 video game than a $60 LEGO set.

Another one? 10225 remake? Lame.

Um... lame if you have one maybe... not lame if you don’t and refuse to drop $500 for it on ebay... also this is lego... over 30% of their sets are remakes every year

I had over 20 at one point. I’m looking at it from an investment standpoint, not collector. So....
