Ed Mack Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I think it would be an awesome set, but I'm surprised that it would even be considered at all with the politically correct/woke attitudes as of late. I mean, it's not like nice things happened there. LOL 1 Quote

Edit: I guess more like 150ish year old history, given the western stuff. Edited October 5, 2020 by minicoopers11 1 Quote
Voltron Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) Doesn't look that great IMO from the leaked photo, maybe once fully revealed with designer video may have other features. Cant see this being a good seller. Maybe lego are trying to recreate the new 7 wonders of world, as taj mahal already done now this. Edited October 5, 2020 by Voltron Quote

I thumbed through a designer’s sketchbook of a potential Ancient Rome theme once. Dude, I was salivating. Even though there were no bloody parts. Had to apologize for the drool I got all over his work. Quote
t_mafia Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Grainy leaked image showing up on the insta. Could be fake, but looks pretty similar to the other pictures, and the black box is believable. It's another one of the thiccc boxes Quote
brickvoyeur Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Looks super smooth, without anything resembling greebling. Hopefully the backside has a bit more of a Lego look… as the fuzzy picture makes it look like a giant leaky punchbowl. Quote
ppsagehen Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Looks very nice. I used to live right next to the colosseum. Brings back fond memories, will enjoy this build. Quote

t_mafia Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 I haven't much about this set lately, all pics removed and seems to be under wraps. I thought it would be a Nov 1 release but now I am thinking Dec 1 or 2021. Brickset does list it as 2020 though Quote

exracer327 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Final product measures: 59cm (23.5") x 52cm (20.5") x 27cm (10.5"). Some decent pictures of the actual box front and back. Quote

Fcbarcelona101 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 These large wide sets (MF, Cloud City, etc.) are amazing once built but such a pain to display properly. I will definitely be getting one of these at some point, but can’t even begin to imagine where I’d put it. 2 Quote

Mark Twain Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Any lions and slave pit confirmed yet? Chariot races?Nope. We aren’t even getting the option to flood it to host naval battles in like the Romans used to do when they got bored with the whole gladiator and sacrificing Christians to lions thing. 2 Quote

I have a small display area so I’ll have to get creative with this one as I hope to get it. at ~20x20 it’s not as large of a footprint as I thought it might be. I thought it might be more like 25x25 or even 30x30 due to the 9000+ pieces Quote
keymomachine Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 I feel like 9000 1x2 pieces and cheese slopes isn't in the same league as the 7500 of the 75192 MILF. But even so, having looked up the leaks it looks amazing. Quote

Sharkfin182 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 It’s SPQR, the letters are dark in spots, and the picture angle and lighting makes it hard to see the tail of the Q and then diagonal stem of the R. SPQR stands for Senātus Populusque Rōmānus "The Roman Senate and People" or "The Senate and People of Rome" an emblematic phrase that appears on Roman currency, at the end of documents made public by an inscription in stone or metal, and in dedications of monuments and public works.
