Rich B
My local Kmart never has anything discounted or on clearance when I go there. I don't know if it's just bad timing on my part or what the issue is?

cflannagan
Anyone have experience where their local KMART price-matches their own online pricing? I googled on that and many "no" came up. :-/ I saw Friends "Cafe" (3061) for $13 on Kmart.com (not available for shipping at the moment), where BP says MSRP is $30 (market is $36.58). TheOrcKing
Heck, I just went to my Kmart that is right across from Wal-Mart, and their stock SUCKED!!!! It was all last years stuff for what little was there to begin with and no clearance or discount on any of them. Or maybe there was but who could tell with their lousy price tags? Everyone had a blue bar across it for some reason.
cobi
I went today also. No sales on LEGO at all. Lots of Kero stuff 50% off.
havanapete
It's true. I stopped at my local crappiest K-Mart (Metro Detroit, Michigan) today, for no other reason, just feeling lucky I guess. 50% off already clearance prices for a total of 67% off MSRP. I bought a X-wing 9493 for $22.50, a Monster Fighter The Crazy Scientist for $18.50, and (6) LOTR Attack On Weathertop for $22.50 each. Again, I have NEVER found anything worthwhile at this K-Mart. I had no idea why I stopped by there today. Just my day, I guess. Best LEGO deal I have ever found. I guess this is what keeps us going. Good hunting. kfrack5
I was able to get the 50% off clearance prices Saturday night online at kmart.com. It took a few days but I did finally get a confirmation that the items had been shipped. I went by my local store on Sunday to see if they were having the same promotion in store. I did see some toys that were marked at 50% off the clearance price but they did not have any of the Legos marked that way.

cflannagan
Might already be obvious, but make sure you know that there is clearance aisle for everything marked 50% off, completely separate from the LEGO aisle. You won't find anything marked 50% off in the main LEGO aisle.. only in clearance aisle (if your Kmart operates like mine). Make sure you look carefully behind items on front, I found the following: 4439 - Heavy Duty Helicopter, marked at $45, would have been bought for $22.50. 6230 - Stormer XL, marked at $22, would have been bought at $11. Couldn't pull the trigger, because I have space issues and only want to buy what I like.
Huskers1236
Too bad the Kmarts in Lincoln closed ages ago, I would have enjoyed these sales.
Darth Lego
Everything was gone at my local Kmart. I saw some sets on sale online, but they were all sold out.
justgod
None of the items in my store were marked as clearance. They still had the blue shelf tags. I took each one to the "scanner" to check. Sure enough, a bunch on sale. Below was my small haul (each with sales tax): 4 x 9492 - $26.36 2 x 7288 - $21.50 1 x 4528 - $5.91 6 x 9472 - $24.13 1 x 6203 - $9.68 4 x 9464 - $13.98 4 x 9466 - $19.89 2 x 4439 - $24.19 2 x 6222 - $5.38 1 x 6293 - $6.45 3 x 79002 - $19.89 3 x 79003 - $27.95 Thanks so much to blueriderbrick for posting this! I also went to second Kmart, but NOTHING was on sale. I talked with the store manager that couldn't figure it out either. She called my local store who told her they "were not having a sale". I pulled the receipt up on my phone. Didn't matter, she was not lowering any prices. I didn't think that Kmart was subject to all the regional price fluctuations that Walmart had. One thing that was strange is that the UPC for the Vampire Hearse was different between the two stores. I wonder if that plays any part in it. I'm not sure they would term it as "sale" either - it's more of a permanent place where they put stuff that are "clearance-priced" stuff. In other words, a retail store could be not having anything special going on - no sale promotions, but still have a "clearance aisle". You found blue-shelf tags.. but did you find the clearance aisle? Nearly every retail store has one - Walmart, Target, etc. They need a place to put toys or stuff they need to get rid of to make shelf room for newer stuff. I only found the items on sale by walking each to the price checker at the first store.
kerrmando
Some Kmarts just don't have deals. I went to five of them in Virginia yesterday and only three of them had Lego sets marked down. Bought all they had but still it would have been nicer for all five to have Legos.
