I was able to secure about 4000 masks from a fulfillment vendor to donate to a local hospital chain. That will give them about an additional 1-2 days of supply. Not a lot but every day matters until we can get our production levels increased. Considering we are all experts in arbitrage/unusual sourcing methods anyone else got any sources? 👍

landphieran
I grew up in the depths of my parents dirty basement living off mountain dew, candy, taco bell and frozen pizza's. Avoiding human interaction for months at a time grinding Diablo 2 and Starcraft BW. Its been rather nice having an excuse to hideout again. I hate to say it, but financially speaking this market is a dream. I bought my first house a couple years ago with a mortgage rate of 4.5% - refinanced down to 2.8%. I had quite a bit of cash left over from last year and will most definitely come out very far ahead in the stock market over the next 6 months. I get to work from home??? I'm sure many people will say this is bad idea but I'm considering taking out loans to further cheap investments. Money is ripe.

Watch ‘The Great Depression’ documentary - interesting info about all of the loans taken out because the stock market was a guaranteed investment prior to 1929! https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/dustbowl-great-depression/
Alpinemaps
Sad about the Olympics. I think the biggest takeaway from this is.... The IOC has someone named "Dick Pound" as a spokesperson. You know he chose not to stick with Richard, but purposely decided to go by Dick.

I know the Kanas governor did it and got immediate pushback but I don’t see this ending before May. They set up online school for us yesterday and while I appreciate the effort it is pretty much a joke. My daughter gets one 15 minute zoom session a week and 3-4 digital worksheets. She’s in first grade and reading delayed so we’re trying what we can at home.

Gov Newsom said last week that he didn’t expect schools to reopen before the end of summer, but also expressed hope that it wouldn’t be the case. He didn’t give specific direction, tho. Our district just basically said “he were going to follow everyone else’s lead, so we don’t know.”I’m concerned for the same reasons as you. Short sessions like that are useless. My son is in second grade and is an at-risk reader also. He definitely needs the structure. I’ve put together some lesson plans and a schedule. That’s about the best I can do. I’m also looking at extra curricular stuff - local hikes (we have a lot of trails and not a lot of people using them near us), Lowe’s “Build and Grow” construction projects - anything I can think of.
